Default Mountain bikes..which to get?

So I saw that some of you know a thing about mt. Bikes. I need a new one, as to my last one was stolen.[:@] I would like a full suspension bike, and if possible be under about $1200. I plan to go to colorado soon, and ride the rocks. But I also like to do some trails and jumps around where I live. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Well, I have (2) Trek and Gary Fisher, so I'd suggest one of them...

I am partial to Kona myself, I had 2 but sold one and saving to get another. There are certainly others but just make sure you get the right size and make sure you ride it and are comfortable on it before buying it. A decent entry level dual suspension bike will cost about $1200 new, but you can always get a deal on previous year models. Good luck.

Gary Fisher = Trek. I'm not a fan of either, too mainstream and over priced for what you get.

Kona or Jamis are my favs. This bike is close to what I have (mine is several years old):

I ride the trails, jumps and make one trip downhilling a year. Ski lift up and bomb down. It doesn't get any sweeter.

if you want disc brakes, get hydraulic discs. wire disc brakes aren't much better than V-brakes other than it keeps your rims lookin pretty[8D]

Iron Horse is really getting big. I have a Sinister Exp. and it rocks!!

There Yakuza series are just about $1200 and they are a helluva bike. Look sweet too.

IMO, Specialized is too common, and expensive...

1200 won't get you very much in the mtn bike world, esp. if you prefer fully(full suspension). Hardtails are cheaper, but with 1200, you can get some of the basic ones, or a better used one.
