Been into hardcore for almost 20 years, it's something that sort of becomes a part of you... the punk rock thing.

Kilswitch engage is a straight up metal band, but a lot of hardcore is metallic now.

Favs are the Crumbsuckers, Starkweather (hence the name) Sick of it All, Ringworm, Today is the Day, Converge, Agnostic Front, Hatebreed, Gorilla Biscuits, Yuppicide, etc.

A leather-clad man screaming incoherently into a microphone, possibly holding a guitar, with a bare-chested man behind him angrily beating drums with wooden sticks, and finally with another either leather-clad, or bare-chested, or any combination of the two tearing strings out of a bass cannot under any circumstances be called music. When people call it music it makes me[:-][X(][:@][:'(][&:] to say the least.

So the superficial appearance of the band members determines the quality of the music? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I listen to almost exclusively extreme metal (ie. death, thrash, grindcore, metalcore, etc), and quite simply the technical skill of the musicians can't be matched. The guitar playing is extremely fast and technical, as is the drumming. Good death growls and screaming actually requires more skill than what most singers posses; there aren't many people who can do it properly. It may sound like random loud noise to you, but there's no denying that the music is 100x more skillful than the generic rock most people listen to.

I leave you with Muhammed Suicmez, one of the most skilled guitarists in the world, and his band Necrophagist. Even if you can't stand the vocals, listen to the skill and technicality of the music. The solo is also excellent.

my bro and his fiance on the other handare straight edge and they listen to a lot of crazy fast, loud, hard and heavy punk. this thread would probably be right up there alley.

minor threat
bad brains
napalm death
blood for blood

I agree, Lamb of God is awesome. Randy Blythe is one of the best metal vocalists around.

This band immediately came to mind, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this YouTube link here, since the lyrics are incredibly R rated and are listed in the video description.

Now we're getting into the weird side of metal, so I'll go back to the good stuff with this technical death masterpiece from Cryptopsy.
