£1.04 per litre! i'm sure somebody will convert into gallons, but anyhow, its damn expensive! i live in the UK.
1 litre = 0.264 US gallons so we're paying £3.94 ($7.99) per US gallon.

I paid $3.61 yesterday here where I live, and next door in Pleasanton it's about $3.70. I have not complained about the price of gas in a very long time. I see my driving as a privilege, and that comes at a cost. I also know the price at the pump is affected by so many factors that it's a waste of my time to try and figure out why things are as they are. I do burn 1 tank a week at ~26mpg just going to work, about $46 right now.

I commute to work, so usually I get gas inbetween my house and work (2 hours away, approximately). Here it can range from 3.10 USD/Gallon to 3.65/gallon depending on where you go in the county. Where I usually stop it is around $3/gallon.

To think in 2002 around here gas was .99 a gallon![&:]
2 hours, that's a long way. I know Valley Springs, where 26 and 12 meet, right? We're up there several times a year at Hogan. Where are you going to work?

As of this morning when i filled up with 87 octane it was $3.12 in Ft Worth Tx but i've seen locally as high as $3.30 for 87 grade.

Premieum is about 35¢ higher.

Well you gotta look at it like this

The oil companies first gotta build a rig, float it out to sea, drill a hole, nothing there, drill another hole, nothing there, and then drill another hole and finally something.

Then they have to refine the crude oil into petroleum, which BTW is very expensive, then refine it again and change the chemical balence, then transport it to where ever you live, fill it up in the underground tanks ( Which again, are EXTREMELY expensive to build ) hook them up to the pumps, and then sell it to the consumer.

And then again, anyone know how much it costs for a gas station to be built.? The pumps, emergency switches, the tanks. Its unbelievabely expensive.

And they do that for $3 or so per gallon.! And dont forget howmuch the government takes outta that.

Gas companies make very little profit if any at all selling their product. They are not trying to price people out of cars, they're just trying to stay in business.

Ive never complained about the prices, and even when I move, the prices are not gonna stop me from driving what I want. If you want ill do a detailed break down of the costs and let ya'll know how much it really costs to get a gallon of gas from the earth to your fuel tank

Hmmmm. Should we say.... Alternate mode of transportation? some brushless 1:1 cars ...

Edit: I hate to say but some of those places you get your gas at..probably water it down..I've heard of several convenience stores with gas pumps watering their tank up, obviously have been prosecuted for doing so.

Water it down with what? You couldn't dilute it with water as it doesn't mix with either petrol or diesel - so you'd just end up with the fuel sitting above a layer of water.

Ive heard that some places mix it with crude gasoline.

I have no idea if its the truth or not, but I only know of one case ( London ) where that happened

i recently saw a news article on how much profit BP (British Petroleum) were making a second, it was crazy!! i'm not saying its cheap for them to drill/supply us with petrol/diesel, but they are not just 'getting by'..

i recently saw a news article on how much profit BP (British Petroleum) were making a second, it was crazy!! i'm not saying its cheap for them to drill/supply us with petrol/diesel, but they are not just 'getting by'..

The profit you saw must have included all their other activities. They dont only sell petroleum, 80% of their profit must have been from crude oil sales and cut-backs.

AND

Most of the gas stations hedge the rate, so there is no differience for them. You really think they raise the prices because its becoming expensive for them.?

ALL of them hedge it, and save AT LEAST 60%. Gas Stations are kind of to blame for the prices going up, not the companies * Oil Companies *, they could literillay care less, because they do get a set income every month, year, decade, from a certial gas station. And MOST of the time it IS in a loss due to rising costs. Its a long story to tell, Ill explain later, Ive just woken up.!

87 here is around 3.75 at the cheaper gas stations (4.00 for deisel). the more expensive stations are like 3.90 for 87 and 4.20 for diesel[:'(]. i got my 97 f150 back in august and i have never filled it up[:@]. i know that if i do fill it up, it will cost over $100.

1.1 euro a litre here (last time I checked. I wonder if it changed recently....hm...super 100, it's what I feed my little beastie)

1 US gallon = 3.78541178 litres

1.1*3.79= 4.17 euros per gallon

4.17E = $6.56

I'll check tomorrow and let you know, cos I thought we would be the same as the uk, but $1.50 a gallon cheaper is a big difference.
