Default what os to use?

I currently have windows vista preminum it came on my computer and i hate it. i want to use something else if i switch to xp it would be a pain finding and installing all the drivers for my computer or is there an easier way? anyone please help

Nope, you gota reinstall all the drivers when you change to XP, it should not be hard to do, although you should backup all your stuff when you reformat. Just get the drivers before you reinstall, usually they are on a disc that comes with your computer.

no discs came with my computer and i have everything backed up. i just had to reformat my hard drive any ways and reinstall vista because it crashed and wouldnt start up

XP is definently better IMO. Your gona have to buy the OS soon if you want it because I have a feeling stores are going to cary it less and less because Microsoft is dropping support for XP comepletly in a few months.

You need to know what hardware is in your computer. Soundcard, videocard, network/ethernet adapter.

yea i know where to check in vista under devise manager but do i need to get the driver for everything under devise manager? thanks for the help

what kind of computer is it? my lap top has vista and when i got it i wanted to change to XP but could not do so, i guess the internal parts were made for Vista, i dont know if they said that to make me not do it or what. I have a HP Pavillion DV6000

i would get a mac! virus free and i've had no problems what-so-ever with my macbook. had it almost 1 1/2 years. it came with OS Leopard.

i never said there was. i had a pc for almost 12 years until i got my laptop. im just sharing my experience with the mac OS. have you ever had a mac? IMO it is easier to use than a PC because of the software layout and the support is awesome also.

also i like the macs because they come set up so there is no installation of software, you just plug in and go. also i have never had my macbook crash or anything like that.

Been a pc user/Programmer for longer than I can remember, Finally jumped ship and bought a mac pro 3.0 Duel Quad Core (Yes thats right, 8 Processors)
Never looked back
