When I lived in Ft. Walton Beach, I rode out Erin and Opal.........rough stuff, but the real problems were AFTER the 'canes rolled through. No electricity, no gasoline, no groceries, washed out roads, sand everywhere, trees down, etc, etc. Hell, the storm was nothing compared to the aftermath.[&:]

That is so true, enduring the storm is only the beginning, if you live. Then you meet reality, the part that is hard to understand, by watching tv. Being prepared is by far the most important. Yesterday I bought 70 gallons of fuel, food, water and what not, it helps lessen the misery. I been through many hurricanes and some that missed.

It should hit me by 6 to 8 pm today. I'll let you guys know what happens.

We got power today, less than a hour ago. We were fine, trees down around here but thats everywhere south of Alexandria. Denham got hit hard and Baton Rouge was hit even harder. Assumption Parish was the worst, they project at least a month before they get power.

Good to see all was ok for you. I didn't have power for 3 days, but other then that, it was the usual, only 2 deaths here in Mamou. What really burned me up was, a stupid early curfew that hurt more then it helped. It's was 2:30 pm, I was going to help my elderly family members with generators and fuel and the cops stopped me and said, if we see you on the road again, you are going to jail. I said, I be damn you put a curfew before a person/persons life, how dare you make innocent people suffer, how dare you, them no goods them!!!!!

I'll make a short slideshow of pic's and video that I caught and post it here.

Fay did more damage in Florida then Gustav did, but you didn't see it on the news like Gustav, it took over a week to call it a disaster area, Bunch of people waiting in louisiana with there hands out, I wonder what kinda of jewelery they will spend there government funded visa cards on this time.

I was gonna post my hurricane video, but there are certain people that I don't want to enjoy it. I'll leave it to myself, so they can dream what I lived.

It was crazy!!

If it goes to Texas, I hope it wipes out the majority and you know what majority I'm talking about.

Hi Savagejim, it's not what they did to me, it's what they are doing to my country.
