Bedtime
Hey guys, the recomened amount of sleep in 9 hours a day fo children, and 8 hours for adults, and I know I sure don't get that much...According to sleepdisorders.com, the average American only ets a little less than 7 hours...How many hours a night do you sleep? Do you notice a difference between when you get a good 9 hours of sleep compared to, say, 6? I know I usually have tons of energy and i only sleep around 6 hours a night...

I usually go to bed around 1:00 am and I have to get up for school at 6:00 so I usually only get 5 hours of sleep.

RE: Bedtime
Average 5 hours I guess, I sleep late (2am) and get up early (7.30ish). I can survive for extended periods on 3 or 4 hours, but eventually it takes its toll. Weekends I will often sleep 10 hours or more to make up for it.

RE: Bedtime
The united states army states that you can sleep for 5 hours and be able to function properly in a stressful environment.
To add to this they also state that you do not need to sleep 5 straight hours, only 5 hours of a 24 hour period.

RE: Bedtime
6 hours at most. Anything more is too much downtime. It just makes it harder to get moving again. I hate having to sleep, especially when there are things to be done.

RE: Bedtime
I usually go to sleep at 11:30, wake up at 5:27. Six hours sleep/24 hours life.
There's an annual two week shut down in the summer. If I'm not going on some huge four wheeling trip I'm going to try Polyphasic sleep. I have been wanting to for a long time now but can never find the time.

RE: Bedtime
I get anywhere from 4 to 8 hours. I get to bed between 2 - 4 am.
4 hours vs. 8 or 9 makes a huge difference in how I feel, however if I get 4 hours a few nights in a row, I tend to think I do better then most people during the day.

RE: Bedtime
6 hours or bust here....lucky to get 6 with 2 in diapers. Anything more and I get lazy. FOr instance I went to bed around 1:30 last night (the wife and kids went to her grandparents for the weekend to visit) thinking how nice it will be to sleep in!?!? I woke up at 7:00 wide eye'd and buchy tailed....Grrrr.... I was hoping to see 9 on the clock for sure but NO....I gotta have this internal clock...where is the battery for that?
