I was leaning toward 22" inch 10-12 spoke black rims. Whats on there now are 18"s i believe, ive seen a few of these cars on 22" around miami and they look good. They fit well i with out lifting the car to much. Still thinking about.

ThunderbirdJunkie took a gander at a few cars this weekend. '05 Saab 9-2x Aero, '06 Subaru Legacy Outback XT, '06 PT Cruiser GT, '05 WRX, and Thursday checking out a 9-5 Aero. To satisfy the girlfriend, ThunderbirdJunkie also viewed an (ugh) '08 VW Eos.

All manual transmissions, mind you.

Jeep chunked something in the head. It's got 194k on it...not gonna trust a pair of rebuilt heads on a shortblock with washed out bearings for a DD...it's now a toy. That poor thing don't owe ThunderbirdJunkie anything anyway.

Foxy, you still have your S2000? Because awhile ago you mentioned that you might sell it due to the higher tax rate?
It was and still is, advertised or a stupidly low price. I have had one call in 3 months. Nobody wants it for the same reason I'm selling it. I think the one call might go for it. I've lowered the price for him, and he's a young guy, very excited about owning the car, but we'll see. He saw it last sunday (not the one just gone, the one before), I'm gonna call him today and see if he's made a decision, but I'm not optimistic.

If it sells, I will get one of these two most likely...

Seat Ibiza Cupra (It's basically the front half a Volkswagen Golf and the rear half a Volkswagen Polo, with Volkswagen's well known 1.8turbo engine in it, making 225hp, at least they go ok)...

Or a Renault Clio RS...2 liter naturally aspirated 200hp, a bit lighter than the seat, so just as quick.

Ibiza Pros:
With only a program it can gain at least another 25hp
It's basically a volkswagen, so apart from terrible electrics, it will be reliable.
The engine is well known by many tnuers and is one of the best in the history of small fast cars. Internals are good for 400hp, all you got to do is put a bigger turbo on it.

Ibiza cons:
The electrics are gonna be awful.
It's fugly (at least from the front, they are quite nice from the back).
OMG understeer.

Clio Pros:
It's very pretty
It's naturally aspirated (smoother torque curve)
MUCH better cornering
Its a real drivers car

Clio cons:
It's French (that's not a national slur, its a plain and simple fact that French build quality isn't really up to scratch, they use cheap materials to keep the price down, and as a result the cars don't last long. The same can be said for most Italian cars)
No room for further tuning, they already squeezed as much as that engine's gonna give without fitting turbo/supercharger.
Godawful interior (plastic is fantastic, mkay?)

If I can find one for the right price (highly doubtful) I might also look at one of these...(do you get these in the US?)

Yeah, we get the Fiat 500 in US now.. !!

I thought the reason for you to sell the S2000 is due to the displacement? If the Clio RS is also 2.0, then wouldn't it be the same? Or it is like 199x c.c. or something so it is slightly below 2 liter??

Haven't posted much, bit of a lurker but couldn't pass this thread up...

My daily is an 09 GTI which is quite fun given only 200hp.
And this one right now is in pieces all over my garage waiting on me to finish the new turbo/engine management/exhaust/etc/etc...

They changed the law again, now it's based on emissions, so the S is even more expensive. A little NA 2 liter will still not be 'cheap' exactly, about $600 a year, but compared to the S at $1000 a year, it's definitely preferable, and not too much of a step down in power.

I'm also looking at the Renaultsport Megane RS 225.

I wonder how they measure the emission.. a lot of newer cars nowadays are "partial zero emission" vehicles.. so do they get a pretty good treatments when it comes to tax?

I have a 1996 Firebird Trans Am WS-6. Bought it new in 1996, with the prodding of my sons, and it has 37,000 miles on it. 6 speed trans with bolt-ons including BBK headers, 1.6 roller rockers, under drive pulleys, Hurst shifter, TA rear end girdle, Hotchkis suspension bits, MSD Digital ignition with shift light, MSD distributor, etc.

When the Hurst shifter is installed, does it automatically remove the 1-to-4 skip shift?
