Car Action RC Buyers Guide 2009
I just got my new buyer guide and to tell you the truth I think the 2008 version is better, Now Car Action is mixing the buyer guide with RC boats in some section of the magg I think they have fallen short on many items on the magazine. What ever happen to the Vortice-BR pipe on this magg? well to make a long story short I don't think this magg is that informative as the 2008 one. just my two cents. [>:]

Yeah, I saw that. I think its cool that RC boats are trying to make a move to expand RC boating, but this is supposed to be RC CAR Action. If anything, maybe RCCA could make a a separate buyer's mag, RC Boat buyers guide and keep RC Car Action buyers guide dedicated to RC cars and trucks.

That stinks. I already buy both RC Driver and RCCA, primarily because each had their own thing to say and had their own formats, etc. Seeing them go the same way upsets me, I really liked the individuality each had []

If some one pays you large amount of money to review something your not into...would you take it?
Maybe RCCA just thinking money is money, even if it is off topic then the regular?
never know..

They're trying to appeal to a larger audience the cheapest way possible. Boats are cool and all, but in my opinion they don't have a place in a magazine that's dedicated to cars/trucks. What's next...helos and planes? LOL

No, you are right. all mags, no matter what the name, are always run by money; money is what keeps the mags running. They get their money from ad spaces, yes, but I am sure that the reviews are also driven by money in mind.
But aside from how mags make money, I personally would like to see RCCA Buyers Guide dedicated to cars and trucks. I would not mind a few ads here and there about boats, or even a couple planes and helies, but the amount of space that was lost to non-cars and trucks actually caused me to put that one back on the shelf.

Its not for you. Its for your dad and older people. My mom and dad doesn't even know what a forum is. So what would you get them if you wanted to get them into rc? A buyers guide or a magazine for them.

OK, first off, boat guy here but a former owner of a pile of RC cars and trucks. I'll let you know that the boaters aren't crazy about it either. The annual Buyer's Guide used to come inside an issue of RCBM and you didn't have to blow big bucks to buy the RCCA issue. Since RCMB's demise this past year they put RCBM back where it originally came from, inside RCCA. I'm guessing that many of you are too young or haven't been into RC long enough to know or remember this.
I've only bought one issue of RCCA since they incorporated RCBM into it and to me it was a huge waste of money to read 14 pages including ads.
Sorry, but I got burned out on the 4-wheelers a long time ago and don't care if I see another one. A neighbor brought a T-Maxx over to see if I could fix it up for him and wouldn't even look it over.
