Come to think of it, I would have to agree with Gex_61. Anyone who doesn't like you on this forum is going to rate you low just to be rude. IMO it should be a system with only positive ratings and 1 person can only rate the same person once.

Ok..so scores can be only positive. No more haters. 1 to 5. I reset < 100 scorers like myself to 100. there was actually only 121 of those total.
let me know if any other issues or bugs. still in beta and we can play with it and tweak it to find out how to maximize its usefulness and fun factor. as I said once it gets rolling we'll start awarding "award badges", maybe shirts, hats, decals, cars, planes, etc. at various levels. I think it has potential

I see this system being wildly misused, and overall being of little to no value at rating at person's value in this community.
Anyhow, a person shouldn't be judged on a score, but rather what they say (which is the only way to gauge a person's character here in this context).
All and all you're trying to simplify what can and should not be simplified.

Well if there's no negative score shouldnt we start with 0? Shouldnt we have started with 0 even if there was a negative score? Why 100 off the bat?

They can still hate by what they say.
But I too do like the positive only concept.

I think the Mods or Admin Should put up a Sticky or Announcement At the the Top of the Forums So People Know about the New Rating System (I don't think many People even Noticed it yet)

yes, its what i think is gonna be rcu's reputation bar, so valued members will have good rep or high score and people who flame or this or that will have low score or a negative score meaning there a not so valued member.
This is a good and bad thing, cause now people are going to be reputation *****s trying to get the most rep etc... The up side would be easy to spot someone who will be of help, like in the savage area bud bud is a very very helpful person and is going to be very well repped.

RE: Anyone notice this?
I've seen some score in the 500's and I seriously doubt people have been THAT helpful since this feature came out. Looks like a case of '"I'll bring your score up if you bring mine up" which might lead people to believe that those with inflated scores know more than those without, just like some people believe post count means anything when it comes to RC knowledge.
As nice as it was to get the 5 points for helping someone find a place to buy the engine he was looking for, a thankyou reply is more than enough for me. My 2 cents worth.

It will take some time for the ratings to smooth out the anomolies, highs and lows properly. Figure 6 months to a year until it becomes somewhat helpful but you gotta start somewhere
