Music you love to hate
What's that one tune that makes you cringe/reach for the remote/leave the room every time you hear it?
For me it's Love shack by The B52's

I just had to go back and close that tab because it's that bad, if I were to let it continue and play my PC would not have survived long enough for me to be posting this...

for me it has to be a song that i hear at work almost every time i work. i work at a theater and in between movies they play music. they have about 10-15 songs that play in a loop in every auditorium. one song that plays just really gets to me. its purple haze but instead of being performed by hendrix, its done by an orchestra. it is sooooo awful. the really bad thing is that sometimes, just by chance that all the auditoriums happen to be on the same song, it will follow you from auditorium to auditorium while you clean. we have 6 auditoriums and we have between 2-5 sets per day. that means a lot of crappy music lol

ACK! I clicked It! I now regret not heeding your advice...
Actually, any of that 60's folk music is utter trash; Bob Dylan being the worst for me. I really wish he would have choked on that harmonica of his.
I absolutely find this kind of folk music absolutely bland, monotonous, boring, and repetitive with lack of enough variation for me, even to the point now that it is like scratching finger nails on the chalk board.
I hate i, I hate it, I HAAAAATE EEEEET! .....lol

RE: Music you love to hate
For me it's an entire genre
While I'm not in to full on Gangsta-rap, I do like the more laid back stuff like Warren G, Snoop Dogg (Mainly his earlier stuff) and some Dr Dre as well.
Eminem has done some good tunes as well, but he soon became boring.
Mickey Avalon is worth checking out purely because he's so cheeky and full of himself.

I'll go one step further, and just say ANYTHING by the B52's!!!!!!!!! Their music makes me want to puke!!!!
P.S. I will say though, Kate Pearson (sic?) has a beautiful voice, it's too bad she wasted it with that crappy band.

Happy Hardcore, its chavvy, too fast and downright pathetic.
also, any music with the 'smurf style' singing in... its an absolute joke.

I also hate that horrible dance music commonly referred to as "hardcore". It's a disgrace to the term. Someone told me about a "hardcore" artist called Angerfist the other day, so hoping to hear some hardcore metal, I looked it up on YouTube. Wow, was I ever disappointed by the crap I found.

Carrie Underwood, she ain't no Dolly Parton, Reba Mcentire, Tanya Tucker and never will be. If it wasn't for her so called good looks, she would still be in college and eating McDonald's every morning like the fat cow she was when she started American Idol.

Dance music is called dance music for a reason.
It's made for dancing.
Unless you've ever been at a club with hundreds of other people jumping up and down, fists pumping in the air, minds slightly altered , you'll never understand this kind of music.
I'm not saying that if you did go to a club playing it, you'd automatically like it, but you might see it in a different light.
If you, as you said, were expecting hardcore metal, there's no wonder you were disappointed.
I've been at clubs and enjoyed this kind of music for 8 hours non-stop.
However, if I'm at home I can't stand it for more than 10 minutes.
Partly because it's not "listening music" and partly because I miss the good times had...

I always say that there is no crap music - only the wrong people listening to it.

(Believe me - I've seen many people who've never heard/liked any kind of dance music get sucked in by the atmosphere and energy of a good club.)
