What is your personal GOTY?

What is your personal GOTY?
OKAY, here are the rules.
1. Post your favorite new game of this year, released this year.
2. Do not criticize other people's choices, people have different tastes and let them be. I don't care if the user's favorite game is Little Tony Apple Picking Adventure, if they like it, they like it.
Seems simple enough, let's see what happens.

WEll I dont know if its this year or not, but Fallout 3 was pretty awesome. I've only bought 1 game thats new and its Forza 3. I'm Pondering the idea of getting Bordelands. I know its taken up most of Foxy's time so its gotta be good

Forza 3 bought it and its amazing. Been playing it nonstop. MW 2 could of had it but there whole deal with not including party chat in multipayer was ridiculous.

RE: What is your personal GOTY?
I have no GOTY, since I'm behind the times and am still playing Medieval Total War 2 (and slowly at that). But...I am eyeballing Dragon Age: Origins, which looks like a promising RPG by Bioware. I'm a bit RPG fan, but haven't found much outstanding since the Baldur's Gate days (Bioware).
I'm talking about PC games, of course.
Anyone into PC single-player RPGs?

My GOTY now is probably going to be Call Of Duty.

Nah, I'm more of a single player guy. Never got into the online gaming (and don't want to, from the addition rate I hear!). I think it goes back to when I only had dial-up, so online gaming wasn't for me.
Even now I just have a basic DSL connection...I just don't have a desire to do the online gaming thing I guess.

Dragon Age is pretty awesome, but DEFINITELY get the PC version if you can. The console versions have less tactical features, far worse graphics, an atrocious frame rate, and are harder to play due to all the RTS like elements.

Its Reccommend requirements are still above the norm for todays average pcs. Even its minimums are slightly high, and no one wants to play a pc game on terrible settings.

Sucks to be average then
Normally I don't mind console versions, but in the case of Dragon Age they definitely got the worse version. I originally picked up the PS3 version, but was pretty put off by the framerate and messy tactical controls. Traded it in for the PC version and it's a lot better.

RE: What is your personal GOTY?
Although the recommended settings for Dragon age are a quad core (ouch), I've heard from 2 or 3 folks who ran it on dual cores with normal visual settings and were really pleased. And these are RPG regulars I've spoken to on forums over a lot of years, so they are quite willing to point out a game's flaws.
One in particular is running it on her dual core laptop (not a massive Alienware laptop mind you....a nice one, but not an Uber Laptop), and she's quite pleased.
So it's quite possible that for Dragon Age, you don't have to have an incredible rig.
Now, I wouldn't go running it on a Pentium 4 with a 64 MB video card, but you get the idea...I still think it will be a taxing game to run, and not everyone will have the specs....but I think there's hope for some of us, anyway.

I got Dragon Age Origins for Christmas, and love it. Running it on a dual core setup, so it's nice hardware...but nothing overwhelming. It runs very well so far, and looks great so far.
AutoX - get it get it get it get it!

RE: What is your personal GOTY?
I'm probably a year behind, but I just picked up Star Wars The Force Unleashed and I'm enjoying it a lot. I'd vote for Little Tony Apple Picking Adventure, but I'm stuck on level 4 and the Strategy Guide I ordered hasn't come in yet...

RE: What is your personal GOTY?
Mine would be COD MW2, or ODST (if it was released this year). COD is great, except for the thing where you can use MW2 parties or Live parties in some. I love the campaign in ODST, though.
