Do you eat the ends on a loaf of bread?
Just curious, how many people eat the ends on a loaf of bread.I know this is way off topic. I only eat the ends when I really want a sandwich, which was once. I know my grandparents eats the ends, but they are they only ones I know of.

My wife never eats the ends. I wait until I find both ends left in the bread bag then make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Good stuff. Bread ends are really chewy.

My wife won't go near the bread ends and will leave them in the bag and start on slice Number 2 or three in the new loaf. So when I see a bag with ends in it it's peanut butter and jelly time for me. I love the ends. Chewy as heck with plenty of fight in them.
I guess growing up and having to hear, "but that's the best part"! of anything be that potato skins, bread ends, pizza crust, or even the fat and gristle off a steak makes me develop a taste for things that others toss away and waste.

I would eat the ends, but when I get a new loaf, my dogs start counting and they know when it is "Bread day".
Just kidding about them counting, but every single day, they are hovering under me as I make my sandwich, hoping to hear the words "Bread day", and catch their pieces.

I rarely eat them, so rarely that I don't remember the last time that I did. Usually I just keep them in the bag and my wife goes ahead and eats them, she really doesn't mind. To me it really bothers me that they are not shaped the same way the rest of the slices are and it doesn't hold the same way the content as the rest. I don't eat peanut butter or any jellies, I just use bread for ham sandwiches or beef sandwiches, maybe that's why it bothers me much.
Anyways sorry my long answer, as a fun fact, in my hometown they call "mother-in law" to ends of loaf bread because "nobody wants them", yeah I know but that's my hometown.
