Default Non RC - DC9 questions

HI guys,

This is off RC but thought I'd ask this question here...

I have a trip coming up and cant seem to avoid a round trip on a DC9(30/40)....

I am concerned about the age and perhaps maintenance - this is a NW flight...I know they have a pretty good track record but there are a lot of cycles on those wings..

Thanks for your thoughts,

Dave

G. Gordon Liddy made a comment on Northwest's "Bowling Shoe" paint scheme when they redid all of the jets with back in the mid '90s: "You can slap shiny paint on a beat up garbage can to make it look newer, but it's still a beat up garbage can".

Having been in aviation for 30 years to include maintenance on large and small, piloting corporate and airline I think it's safe to save go fly. You've got a better chance of getting killed on the way to the airport.
