OMP 80" Fusion
I just recieved an 80" Fusion kit on Friday. The kit arrived well packaged and all the laser parts are very nice! Saturday was too nice to work inside, but I was able to get some work done while watching NCAA basketball today. Here are a couple of pictures I took so far. I've got one wing about 90% done and I expect the other wing to go quicker. I will take better pictures of the steps on the second wing. I plan on installing a Brillelli 42 on it and will wait to start the fuse until the engine arrives. I will post pictures every few days as I make progress.

I see what you guys are doing - egging me on to make me build faster. OK, it's working. This is one awesome kit. I got a late start tonight and ran out of glue, but here is my report:
I built the stab and found it to be very simple. All the parts interlocked very well and have an attached blocks on the bottom to ensure a true build. I ran out of super glue or the elevators would be done as well. The stab is fully sheeted and is amazingly strong and rigid. The elevators have 1" sheeting on the leading and trailing edges. All ribs in the elevators are 1/4" thick, so will not require cap strips. I have to dig out the razor planer to shape the leading and trailing edges of the stab, but other than that it's done. This is my first OMP kit and it's very impressive!

OK Mike, how did you know about the hangar flying and airplane noises - do you have a hidden camera around my building room?[sm=what_smile.gif] I didn't get much done last night, but my glue is resupplied, so I completed the tail pieces. I hope to have the second wing done tomorrow and tackle the fuse this weekend. You'll notice the tail crutch in the first pictures - it mounts in the fuselage foam and hold the stab and servos. No planning were to put the servos and then digging out foam - just build the parts. The elevators and rudder are mostly ready for sanding as well. Not too bad for a few evenings work!
