Default Saito 100 and OMP65" yak??

I was on OMP's website last night ordering two more edge ff540p's and that 65 inch yak really caught my attention. I did a search on here and could not find any info on the yak powered by a saito 100. Would this combo be a blast? I have got to have one, I just don't really want to spring for another engine right now. Someone out there must have this combo to give me there feedback.

We'll I can speak for some people who may not be watching this thread. The combo is perfect. The plane should come in at just under 7LBS with that motor. More then enough power to rip it out of the sky. We've sold a quite a few with that setup. Send a PM to Constrictor. He uses a YS 110, but could tell you how well it would do with Saito 100 I'm sure.

I'm working on this combo right now - just can't get motivated to get it done. There's a guy here on RCU that says the combo is great. I have the 100 on a UCANDO 60 now and it pulls out nicely at just over 7 lbs.

BTW, where is Fairmont? I live near Charlotte.

Glad to hear that this engine will work fine. Fairmont is just a little south of the intersection of HWY 74 and Interstate 95 near lumberton....hope that helps.

I started with a Super Tiger .90 on my Yak and actually flew about a gallon of fuel thru it and had absolutely no complaints. It didn't hesitate to do anything I asked of it at about 3/4 throttle. I did prefer to have a bit more authority on climb out from a hover, so I went with a Saito 1.50 w/ 16x6 and, well..................VERTICAL is FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN

You will find the 100 will probably make your plane tail heavy, not necesarilly a bad thing you will just have to move as much stuff forward as possible. Your weight will probably come out about 7.25 lbs all up. You wont have a tremendous amount of pullout from a hover but it will probably pull out slowly. I have had a magnum 91 xls (similar weights to the 100) and now have a saito 120. You can PM "blackie" here on rcu or torqueroll. He has that exact setup and had a few trials and tribulations with the CG initially

I have the 65" yak with a YS 110, but I flew one last weekend with a saito 100 on it. It is a good combo. Plenty of pull out. Not sure of your skill level, but even if you are a begginer it will work well. Since you already have the engine go ahead and get the kit and build away. You will like it.

I have Saito 100 on my OMP 65" Yak. I like the combo very much. I have my battery and switch in the wing pushed all the way back to the inside trailing edge. The plane likes the aft cg. Get the plane and run the Saito 100 you have with a 15x4 or 16X4 APC wide blade and you will be very happy.

CGAV8R,

Yours was the one I was talking about flying. Sarge, now you have it straight from the owner.

CGAV8R, I am going to be over again soon. I have more fuel on order: should be in any day.
