Nope not teasing, this is first of many helis to come. We wanted to find a good crossover product for 3D pilots who want to learn whirlybirds and this is the best we came up with. It's a pretty hot bird loaded with lots of features and is tough as nails. Just ask Mike how I handled my first E heli flight. It went in hard, picked it up ... not a ding.

Anyhow, more to come.

Yup the whole heli thing is scaring me. OMP guys playing with helis? Yup I am still scared. Dion flying a heli? Now that is giving me nightmares....Mike flying a heli? Heartattack for sure! LOL

Well I've been playing with helicopters in my spare time for about 2 1/2 years now and it's a whole different world. It's definately as challenging as learning 3d flying as I guess you can say it's sort of 100% 3d flying. I've always told people that 3d flying is nothing more than vectored thrust flying and that's all a helicopter ever does! With the advances in the electric helicopters lately it's been a blast and perfect for us to expand into.

I showed my wife last month how I could fly from the dining room table to the back of the couch with my mini electric heli.....she said "that's nice, now go outside and play!"[:@]

I'm thinking it's time for a nice glider. Spacey, do you have any suggestions? I'm looking for something big, real big. Bigger the better they say.

Nah just kidding Mike. My friends have been trying to convince me to buy a eggbeater. I've had some fun my good friend's Robbe Millenium .60 which is setup for mean 3D. I like it. Also hovered another buddy's little T-rex the other day and I like that too! Now maybe if I grab a bonus end of this year I'll consider a heli. Hehehe.

Dion yes you need a glider. A BIG one too!!! Something like my Nimbus maybe? Or we could get you started on something like my Poly Sergio? A nice 3 meter glider is what I think you need. Oh and remember that every glider guider needs a co-pilot like the one shown in the pic. They say force is strong with this one! [8D]

How many stories is the wingspan on the Nimbus? Why even bother telling it in inches???

Holy crap, yeah, that's a biggin. I see it takes 3 rooms in your house to cover the WS.

Wanna see you do a handlaunch with that thing.

Hahaha! Yup she covers half the kitchen...the full 'dining' room and half of my workshop floor. A full 5 meters and a bitty maybe. That's about what? 200 inches? Dion we could of course have you go all the way and get you a 7 meter Nimbus from Icare? NOW THAT IS BIG!!!

Discus launching this sucker should be fun I reckon?

Dion did you guys talk to the guys that made the video for the heli? You know these guys making hand catch landings in videos is just not safe! It's ridiculous and could have some serious implications you know! Why people are so irresponsible just goes beyond me. [:'(]

Nah, I'm still alive and well here in profile land. But the helis certainly are a fun challenge. Even got Forrest flying the electric in the backyard. It's funny because he can outfly the crap out of me on the sim with the helicopters but when we fire up the small electric in the back yard he's as nervous as a rookie pilot! I give him about 12 more flights and he'll be smokin me.
