I really hope my hybrid doesnt come out tail heavy. I am going with the DA-50. If I cant get it to balance without adding weight then I know a hybrid that will be up for sale.
I doubt you'd need to but even if you did this thing still has such a riddiculously light wing loading that it would be fine....let me know if you decide to sell it.

Man it just registered with me $945,and $36more, you are only a little more than $100 ,from a DA-100,and it is almost two DA-50's . I'm pretty sure a DA-50 is $550 . I hope that MVVS 58 runs good[X(] TomBob

I received the MVVS58 prosport look's nice.........tough too!!
I put it on the weight scale .....72oz whit ignition.
Fits nice into the fuse, still waiting for the canister.
I am also interested in the TBM li-po batteries and the MPI miracle switch regulator.

The $945 price doesn't seem right to me. I think the standard 58 is under $600. The Prosport shipped to the USA is less than $650.

Have no idea, never had one. What is the power output as far as prop size and rpm it will turn? 60 oz is not heavy as that is just under 4 lbs which is right in line with the 50 cc gassers. Probably lighter once you add up the ignition/battery for the gasser. I'd say if you could spin a 22-8 to 24-8 prop at 8000-9000 rpm then you would be very comparable to the 50 cc gassers.

How are they deformed? Slight bows or twist in long balsa in normal and usually worked out in the buiding and jigging process.

Mike

I build a jig so I can glue the 3/4 triangle square on the aileron.

I hope to have the maiden-flight on the end of this month.

I sure post sum pictures.

Thanks for the advice.

is it possible to get the weight below 16lb by using CF wing tube, CF landing gear and CF tail gear?
below 16lb and you would have great performance with the DA 50.

My Hybrid has a MVVS 58 with a Pitts style exhaust, Sky-lite wheels, TBM Li-Ions, wood prop, no pants, or spinner, standard wing tube. I put one JR 8611A servo on each aileron. It weighs 16 pounds, 8 ounces. The DA set-up is about 12 ounces lighter than the MVVS set-up.
This plane flies so nice. It's by far my favorite plane. It flies like a foamy. Lands at walking speed, and hovers at 5 clicks of throttle.

Both the OMP Hybrids used the DA 50 engine. The first one used the Bisson inverted pitts and weight dry was 16.25 lbs. The second one used the canister muffler from DA and dry weight was aroubnd 16.5 lbs. But the power to weight on the canister setup was way better than the pitts muffler.
