New Giant Scale Gassers for OMP this March!
Yes it is true, OMP is finally entering the giant scale market with two new offerings: the Yak SP-55M and the Extra 300 MidWing. Both are designed for the popular 85-100 cc engines and will weigh about 25 lbs outfitted with the 85 cc engines. Wingspans are around 102 inches and lengths are about 94.5 inches. These are covered in geniune Oracover (Ultracoat), come with premium hardware, composite landing gear and wing/stab tubes, carbon fiber reinforced fuselage and wing spars, prehinged elevators and ailerons, and real manuals written by OMP. More information to come soon!

Sure, Wing area is about 1875 squares per plane and pricing will be competitive with all the others out there....under a grand.
Oh yea, I did steal my ProYak scheme for the big Yak. It's a Bad As* scheme ain't it! I also designed the scheme on the Extra as well. Good ole red, white, and blue American colors baby!

Ahhh, I found the pic. Seems they've taken some of the other pics down.
Now if someone would come out with an affordable 85cc. I love my DL and Area 51 motors and could just do with the twins of either one but would rather keep it light with an 85. Not knocking DA, just saying wish there were some more alternatives.

Hi Bill! How about a 85cc Extra 260 or Raven?

I meant to say an 85cc engine. Though I do love the Raven, if I was gonna go with any of them if would be the 55sp. The wingloading would be stupid sweet if it came in around 24#. I've got my Chinn Yak, my 50cc 55sp and the 85cc 55sp would round it out perfectly. But I'd want to go with the 85 and there are decent 100 twins out there for less than what I'd pay for the DA85. I'd love a DL85 or an Area85!
oh yeah and a trailer!

You'll need to build some bigger closets, Steve!
Seriously, does anyone know of an 85-90cc single alternative to the DA-85? Nice to know if there are other lightweight options.

Thanks Steve. Beyond the 50cc size, I don't have the scoop on those engines. Not many of those as light as the DA but you never know whose published weight includes what. Does BME even make the 5.8 single anymore??
