The slow stryker with a full 3 cell battery on the watt meter pulls about 11.95 amps on the meter.

My neck gets sore from looking up after 15 minutes

That is allot of airtime on one pack , and I wonder why your neck is sore :=}} .
By the way, what size 6 cell pack are you using in your fast one, or did I mis-it ?

On the fast stryker it runs on a 65 c 4 cell 2800ma ish banana hobbys pack
Pulls over 100 amps ( don't know the exact as my watt meter only goes to 100 amp)
sapac 3100 edf motor
6x4 apc gas motor prop
have run it on 6.5x 4

the best and most eff. way for speed is the mopar way.......lower kv motor, high volts, big prop....that combo will make huge watts which equals horsepower=speed

That said ..... "indy car" stryker sound will turn heads at any fly in.....it's just not as eff. or as fast as a low kv high volt plane.

I could use the sapac motor on higher volts as it always comes down close to air temp.......don't know how must thrust you would get on a say 4.0 x4.0 prop turning oh about 65,000 rpm on 6 cells.
Guess the prop would burst into flames due to friction LOL,

While I sure appreciate the info, and yes I think the prop would do that for sure.
Thank You

If your talking about the Champ micro mini then the Stryker is not a jump.....its a leap.  Suggest something with ailerons and conventional wings to gain more confidence.

Hi All,

Back in the day, there was a beautiful Stryker with the Vulcan paint scheme.
It may have belonged to Kiwikid.
Not sure now, since it has been a long time.

Saw this article and thought I would post it here.

Can't believe that Park Zone discontinued the Stryker it was a fantastic plane. With all the new tech around they should bring it back as a mid engine pusher, that would be fantastic!

Default Every thing that has a begining, has an end........says Mr. Smith!

It all began here for me and here it where it ends. I am parting with the last of my Stryker stuff. Custom made by me, Wide Body Stryker that can take CRAZY power. This airframe is widened with one inch of solid balsa right down the center, lots of carbon rod re-enforcing, glassed, servo pockets re-enforced, hardwood trailing edges.....made for extreme speed. Also are two sets of wood elevons, wood fins, numerous stock motor mounts and two custom aluminum mounts. What more could a budding speed freak ask for....all the hard work is done. If interested shoot me a PM and we'll talk. Or PM me on RC groups (arcticflyer).

Still waiting for PZ to resurrect this basic platform. I have 4 sitting round my garage and love them.

Come on PZ turn that Stryker into a real F-22 performer! You know you can.
