My New Pico Stick
Hi all
Well couldn't help myself had to get another indoor plane.
Since I have 9 LiOn packs that work great with GWS stuff.
At $24.99 at my LHS I thought I would try the little Pico Stick.
Having seen them fly I knew I wanted to do a few mods.
1.Roll bar/ handle to protect the reciver.
2. Packing tape around the leading and trailing edge of the wing for added strength and durability.
3. Flying wires to stop the dreaded wing swoop . Maybe it will loop without snaping the wing now.
4. Add a little color to make it stand out in the crowd these things are every where and I want to tell it's mine .
If it dosen't work out $25 isn't to bad of a loss ha ha .
Here are a few picks . John

Flew the Stick
Well i'm glad to report that the lite stick flys great.
With the flying wires it loops and dosen't snap the wing.
I first tried it with a light wind maybe 5 mph and it flew backwards. Waited untill just before dark and it was dead calm. The stick flys great with the correct C.G. .
My first flight was tail heavy and was a little tricky. It flew nose high in a costant stall. After hitting my truck at slow speed the stick was unharmed. The strengthening seems to have worked. I hadn't expected to test it on the first flight ha ha.
The Qualcom 830 packs work great on this also. In the future that will be a deciding factor. If it flys on those packs I want it .
Happying flying John

New mods
Well
Flying the stick indoors over the last two days I noticed it tendency to slide in the turns. And drop the wing requiring alot of elevator to correct.
I had seen a guy at a gym with alot of polyhedral in his wing and it seem to turn on a dime. I also read about this tip on another forum. So I tried it. Man what a differance it makes in the stick. flys alot like the moth now.
I placed a roll of seran wrap under the wing tip and got out my heat gun while applying presure to the tip I heated where I wanted the bend and boom. There you go. You could use a coke can or whats handy.
By the way I got rid of the german crosses. My wife didn't like them and the more I looked the less I did. If it was a scale plane that would be differant.
Happy flying John

Thanks for $23.99 too you can relive your memories ha ha.
I bought a 3 blade prop from a guy at the gym today will see how it works out. Not used to the tight quaters in a gym but its fun to be around other flyers. John

I Think I will wait until the GWS SlowStik is released. I am in the process of reviving my DuskStik. I am an outdoor flier, and the 280 motor bodes well for outside, plus at $35 it’s a good deal.
