Assuming all of the pictures that have been taken off all of my web sites are put back on, I predict a really bright future!

Thank you very much sir. I am still busy trying to salvage something from my destroyed web sites. It looks like I can now get away with posting some pictures including those that are part of my Facebook account. My "Facebook Timeline" will have to suffice as my main "issue oriented web site" for now.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/community/...g&memid=266748 might help show a motive behind the destruction of my web sites.

The same "just fly at any altitude" automatic variable pitch prop that works so well on my belly landing F4U also works very well on my PZ P-47 belly lander. Although I enjoy most of my landing gear equipped machines with the exception of the HH HH machine that I am determined to master at some point or else, belly landers are my favorite modeling/science promoting teaching aids. There is something about the large realistic flaps and fuel tanks on my landing gear equipped Corsair that makes it really special, so it is hard to say which one will be flown most of the time.

Looking forward to seeing more of your movies.

Rolling in to attack.

Out.

So I finally got one of these of my own and I made an unboxing, maiden flight, and review video with it as you can see below.

I would describe this one best as a fourth plane option, especially if you don't have someone to trim (tune) it for you so it flies well. If you do, then this might make a decent third plane if you have mastered your aileron trainer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3H2_GPF0Ek
My review notes for the F4U-1A Corsair, which is the newest Parkzone F4U Corsair are as follows:

Cons:
- The paint is very fragile
- The bomb drop fasteners are weak
- Landing gear hardware could be better
- It needs a lot of trim out of the box

Pros:
- Nice looking plane
- Upgradable
- Flies nice once trimmed
- Takes off on grass with stock landing gear

Takeaway: This is a very nice RC plane, but it is not a T-28 Trojan! This plane was flown 100% stock with the exception of flying with a Gforce 2200mAh lipo battery.

Ordinarily I would try to post my own picture but as we have learned from the recent past my Corsair pictures get blocked off here, so here is the next best thing. I hope it will stay posted.

Thank you for your continuing enthusiasm for fighters! We lose a lot of good men as a result of the influence of hacker activity on the fighter threads, so it is very inspirational when a flyer like yourself comes along in defiance of enemy flack and shows the world how to fight the good fight! I really do enjoy my three (3) Corsairs. The two lightest ones can fly over my small flying area next to my house. If I become confident enough I may even be able to enjoy flying my heavier landing gear equipped version in my small field area.

Aim high, fly, fight, win!

Still enjoying the euphoria of a F4U fun flight over my small field next to my house. The plane was launched into a slight breeze with a little over 1/2 throttle that was immediately brought up to full power to negotiate the usual "F-15 like" takeoff ending with a roll at the end of the climb out. In addition to the usual rolls. inverted flight, etc., a lot of time was spent practicing slow flight with 17 mm deflected flaps just to be sure there wouldn't be any stability problems like what destroyed my first HH Hurricane during what was planned to be my last flight of the season. Yes, it turned out indeed to be its last flight of the season.

So, everything performed very well and it was very easy to land the plane just a few feet from my feet. Yes, it is a fun plane to fly.

Breaking off the attack now.

Out.

So after getting it more dialed in, here is video of this plane taking off and landing much closer to the camera and in soft, muddy grass with stock landing gear:

Hey, great ROG work under difficult conditions! My new receiver technology allows me to look as good as you with my landing gear equipped ships. You could say that I am cheating but at least I don't have to suffer the kind of embarrassment now that has been all too common in the past with me using landing gear.

Looking forward to some flyable weather. Thanks for your videos, you make the threads come alive with your work. I hope you will continue regardless of flack or fighters!

Out.

This video features the Parkzone F4U-1A Corsair rough field landing gear in a review and maiden flight with the new landing gear.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnxAVKJR-ys My review notes focus on the landing gear and for the F4U-1A Corsair Parkzone, which is the newest Parkzone F4U Corsair:

Cons:
- Not very scale
- A bit bouncier than the stock landing gear on landings

Pros:
- Easy to install
- Inexpensive
- Have made nose overs next to impossible
- Makes it possible to taxi on rough damp grass

Takeaway: This is a very nice RC plane in the Parkzone Corsair with the rough field landing gear and it makes it far more flexible of a flying option than my T-28 Trojan! This plane was flown 100% stock with the exception of flying with a Gforce 2200mAh lipo battery and aftermarket landing gear.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!

The last landing of my pristine condition F4U-A1 Corsair that now proudly hangs in my garage hangar displaying its full deflection angle flaps (twice that recommended by the instruction book} fuel tanks, landing gear, and a very scale looking three bladed prop (looks very much like the above picture that I hope will post - the last picture I tried to post "went away") was so impressive that an observer found it necessary to compliment the landing. He probably saw some of my former landings that were "quite different."

After some repair work that was needed because of past embarrassing "landing performances" (?), with the landing gear now bent forward with wheel axles even with the leading edge of the wing and remembering to apply full up elevator on high rate at the point of solid ground contact, the landing was very nice. The 13X6 prop blades are de-pitched starting about 66% out toward the tips that are rounded nicely such that full throttle with a 40 Amp ESC the current is a little less than 40 amps. This beauty is now fine tuned for my purposes.

So, Aim High - Fly - Fight - Win!

Out.

On this post the prop "rotates" on the "edit page" but not on the posted page, ain't we got fun. Now, just minutes later the prop rotates at least on my PC on the posted page. It would be interesting to learn what everybody else can see on their PCs.

I have been practicing my landings (in what little free time I have these days) and I finally got a new video up for this plane. It was a lot of fun and boy did it feel like some good summertime flyin'!

This is my second pair of rough field landing gear (it likes to bounce with the wheels pulled forward if I don't land just right and one landing took a weird bounce to side wrecking the first pair).

I would also like to note that other than the paint chips/flakes that are starting to add up, I have had no other issues with this plane so far.

Enjoy!

Great video work and thanks for your kind words as usual! I hope you will be able to profit from your copyrighted work. Everything needed to show the stock flying capability plus useful landing gear tips are there. I can't quite grasp your latest landing gear fix. Please explain a bit more about that situation. What broke, and what was fixed,

I installed a new motor in my "belly landing" F4U and enjoyed a fun fighter CAP sortie flight over my small backyard flying site yesterday. The old motor that more or less "survived" a crash will be saved as an emergency spare.

Breaking off the fight now.

Out.

I fly and land off of grass fields and the stock gear just doesn't work on the landings. That is why I talk about that quite a bit lately. I of course prefer the stock look, but when you live in the place that grows thick, dense, lush green grass you have to do what you have to do.

Very good GB. Below is a report on my latest belly landing F4u that I hope can be useful along with a little history I find interesting.

May 3, 1943, 5 days before the end of the 1st combat tour with Chance-Vought F4U Corsair.
The complement of pilots remained the same for the start of the second combat tour.

Put up a fun Corsair demonstration flight at just under a mile high density altitude in 105 degree air. The plane performed very much as it does down on the deck with the possible exception of the landing. There was no evidence of heat damage
though the ESC felt plenty hot after the flight. The new E-flite 30C 2200mAh battery was noticeably warmer than usual but there was no noticeable swelling as has happened with some other brands of batteries under similar conditions. Main problem with the landing was my estimation of the landing area. It was plenty large but I was afraid of ending up in the trees on the landing approach so the ship ended up hitting some weeds and dirt at the end of what turned out to be too short of a landing area. The thinner air could also have allowed a higher landing speed to make a difference in landing ease.

Gotta get back in the fight.

Out.

GB, thank you for your continuing kindness and enthusiasm.

Put up six (6) flights here on my small backyard flying site and experienced some new phenomena with my belly landing Corsair. First flight ended up in the blackberry bushes on the west side of the field. Could have been a down draft at launch, possibly combined with a little too much power torque roll, or even a flap trim adjustment, maybe a combination of all of the he above. Probably not a good idea to use easily bend adjustable 18 gage soft steel wire for flap pushrods. I will try to be more careful to check all control surfaces before flight on future missions.

On the second flight attempt the motor trim adjustment may have been too high and/or the system may have been overheated. The motor wouldn't run. later in cooler weather everything worked fine. I finally lowered the motor trim adjustment to eliminate that variable. At the time I thought the ESC had burned out.

Rolling in to attack.

Out.

Thanks GB!

Flew the belly landing configured version of the venerable PZ F4U-1A Corsair on its first and last fighter sweep mission powered by a very successful four (4) bladed prop that is intended to be used on the upcoming retractable landing gear equipped PZ P-51 "Dallas Doll." The landing into a "reasonable looking " stand of grass was made with a little more than 1/2 flap deflection into a mild wind in 80 degree plus air temperature. This test flight proved that four bladed props are a dumb idea for big park flyer belly landers. Also proven was the strength of the two de-pitched and thinned Master Airscrew 12X6 props modified and glued together to make the four bladed prop. The blade that evidently took the greatest impact force on the "crash landing" was bent back noticeably and required some forward bending to make it track with the other blades.

With scale models more than two blades are not needed. For purely aesthetic reasons it has been great to learn that fine tuned three and four bladed props can be made very competitive performance wise with the best two bladed props.

Rolling in to attack.

Out.

Having enjoyed full flap deployment effects during the landing of my Mosquito on my small flying field recently, it seemed to be a good time to try the same thing with my belly landing Corsair. Because of the way I set up flap deflection angles the F4U enjoys double the instruction book's deflection angle recommendations for both 1/2 and full flaps on my newest Corsair and only a few degrees less on the belly lander version. Most of my landings are very uneventful using my "1/2 flap" deflection setting. Although practice full flap deployment flying at a safe altitude seemed manageable, in the turbulent conditions as the plane was on its landing approach I lost my nerve due to unstable behavior, throttled up and finally used the more reasonable lower flap angles for the landings.

MY full flaps look very scale but will probably be used only under milder conditions.

Out.
