Tipsy center of gravity
I'm new to this site so I hope this gets posted. I got a Graupner Tipsy for Christmas last year and totaly smashed it the three/four times I've tried to fly it. It is all back together and I've been wondering about flying it again. (I got a Wingo this past summer and I haven't crashed for weeks so I've been thinking that maybe I'm up to trying the Tipsy.) I thought that I read some where that the C.O.G. suggested by Graupner was off? The plane balances where the instructions indicate it should when I tape four pennies to the tail. However, when I try to fly it now if just takes a nose dive. I've tried launching it with little, medium, and full throttle but it always takes a dive. (I launch it over very tall weeds so that it barely gets a scratch when it "crashes".) I'm still planning on practicing with the Wingo but would like to see what the Tipsy can do. Any suggestions?

RE: Tipsy center of gravity
It sounds like your CG is too far forward. On my Tipsy i have the CG set 1/4 inch back of where the instructions indicate. Try moving it back a bit. If you can adjust the CG by moving some components further back, this is better than adding weight. Hope that helps
