Default GWS Beaver control rods install?

I'm starting to build my new Beaver kit. I've pre-read the instructions and it appears that the control rods are installed without any support or outside tubing. My past experiences would make me believe that on "pushing" movement the rods would bend. (Pulling is not a problem.)

Am I being paranoid here? Is everyone just installing the wire loose without any support within the fuse? Did I misread something in the instructions?

I want to make sure before I button the fuse up.

Thanks,

Sierra Gold

Default RE: GWS Beaver control rods install?

Hi Sierra,

I severely "hopped mine up" and have about 3X the reccomended throws. As such, I learned the rods flex quite significantly inside the cavernous fuse, and wish I'd run support tubes beforehand. What I did, was a trick I learned from my old sailplane days when I'd forget to do the same thing - With a stiff wire rod, gently stuff the fuse with a plastic grocery store type sack - it adds almost no weight, and will support the rods to prevent flexing very well.

Shawn
