Firebird Commander First Flight
Hey, I just tried out my dad's Firebird Commander earlier today. I didn't think that it would fly as well as it did, because it had no elevator. It was a little hard to get used to at first because its faster than my slowstick, but once I got up about 200 feet it glided really nicely on the wind that is up over the trees.
Its definitly harder to land it though becuase the battery died while I was up there so i glided it the best I could, but there was no motor so I kinda fell out of the sky, but it landed with OK speed, except it kinda cartwheeled, but no damage.
Overall its a fun plane, even without the elevator control, but you have to kinda predict what its gonna do in the next second, and counter for it.
Now I just have to wait for the hobby shop guy to cycle my battery and see whats wrong with it...cant wait to go flying again.
