Any suggestions for a low cost back yard setup? <$80
My younger brother is looking into getting into flying planes. I know he wont have the patience for gas powered setups like I have. Im wondering if there are any decent complete setups available for <$80 that can be flown in the back yard, park or where ever. I looked at the Dragonfly vortex setup on Ebay and it seems like a good deal for around $60... anyone have any experiences or suggestions?

You might look at a Firebird Outlaw for about $50 (but you'll probably have more fun in a backyard with a $5 kite).
If money is a major concern, you picked the wrong hobby.

I think the Slow Stick is about the best value, but if you're wanting radio and everything, you'll be way over $80.

Hey Lock,
I bought a pretty decent plane called the Megatech Cosmic Flyer,
only 2 channel, but it has a rudder control, Styled after the hobbyzone type plane.
Very easy to fly, also very light and a good glider
I bought it from Hobbytron.com for $44.99 including shipping. Everything included(plane ,battery, radio,charger....
Now I'm comfortable to upgrade to the new Areobird Challenger.
Happy Flying,
Russ,AKA Treesmacker.

Thanks Russ, that looks alot like the Vortex I bought for my brother. We'll see how she flies this Christmas.
Myself Ive gotten the urge to pick up an electric plane myself since I have tons of gear from my glow planes already. Ill be trying out a Slow Stick this weekend .
