speed 400 on slowstick
Hi, I was wondering if you put a EPS speed 400 on a slowstick, what results would you get???? (better, worse), and I have a 10 amp esc Is that good enough?
Thanks, Jason

RE: speed 400 on slowstick
I tried that once and it was a dog.
I am really not sure what happened. I tried the GWS 400 with the I Gbox and a 1280 prop.
I am not sure whether it was the extra weight or a bad motor but it had nothing on the 350. I was using 9.6V 1700MAh battery and a Zagi 20Amp ESC.
Depending on your prop, 10 Amps is probably going to be a bit small for the ESC.
I have a lot of fun with the 350 setup, 9.6 Volts. Be carefull with the motor, there are a few threads around about guys who are burning these motors up pretty regularly.

The GWS EPS 400C is a good performer, if you use a 10 cell NiMh pack or a 3S1P Lipo. I have it with the 5.28:1 GB on one of my SS.

3S1P is simply 3 cells in series - why people insist on adding the 1P is beyond me since for something to be in parallel there must be a second 'thing' for it to be in parallel with!
A pack of, say, TP 2100 cells in 3S configuration is made up of 3 cells in series, it has a nominal voltage of 11.1V and a capacity of 2100mAh. At 6C it is rated to produce 12.6A max draw.
A pack of TP 2100 cells in 3S2P configuration is typically made of two modules [each of 3 cells in series] joined in parallel - it has a nominal voltage of 11.1V and a capacity of 4200mAh. At 6C it is rated to produce 25.2A max draw. For ease of balancing cells, one can produce the same configuration by using 3 modules [each of 2 cells in parallel] joined in series.
Cheers, Phil

It really was dissapointing. I use the same battery on my Zagi with a speed 400, granted with a much smaller prop but with no gearbox though. The battery is very heavy but the same setup flies well with the 350

RE: speed 400 on slowstick
My experience (and the GWS performance tables for the EPS 400C) indicate that using the advised prop, the EPS 400C likes the 12(NiMh) or 11(LiPo) volts to produce thrust. The ma value of the pack is just the "size of the electron tank."
LiPO Pack naming conventions:
Sorry for the confusion, it just seemed that the convention in other threads was to use the "3S1P" when describing Lipo packs to indicate "one set of three cells in series." The first time I used just the "3S", someone else got confused and inquired as to whether I had 3 cells or 6 due to their concern for current capacity of the pack.
A quick scan of several vendors descriptions for their LiPo packs would indicate it's just dummies like the rest of us who make such transgressions.

**** On giving this a few more minutes of thought -
If the naming convention for LiPo packs is xSxP (x=number of cells)
Then a 3 cell series pack should be indicated by 3S0P.
