Default Alright guys....last beaver question

Now that I have got all the bugs worked out, I have a battery question. I currently am using a 7.2 volt 270mah NiCd battery, what would be the benefits of moving up to a 350 mah or a 400 mah if any?

More mah means more runtime, but they usually weigh a bit more.

Do you think jumping up to that size would effect the weight that much? Also what would be the Diff. If I went with a NiMh pack?

Thanks in advance

I don't think you're plane will notice the difference between 270mah and 400mah batts. Sanyo 720mah packs are a good comprimise between weight and capacity.
Nimh will give you a bit more capacity than a Nicad of the same size, and is generally a bit lighter.

I fly my Beaver with 7.2 volt 600Mah NICADs and always have a good time with it. I just bought an 8.4V 720Mah NIMH pack, but haven't flown with it yet. The NIMH pack is considerably smaller. (AAA cells vs AA cells)

Why does my beaver nose dive and break props everytime I try to fly it?

A little more info would probably help. Does it climb then stall and go in, or does it nose dive from level flight?

Well my beaver nose dives from level flight, and my slow stick goes almost straight up and then falls out of the sky, not long after a hand launch!

Beaver: CG too far forward...
Slow Stick: CG too far back...

Try a Tiger Moth, that should be just right!

25% of the mean aerodynamic chord.... Finding the MAC is the tricky bit...... [8D]
Or in the case of the GWS Tiger Moth, just follow the manual....
