Futaba 6EXA
I just picked up a Futaba 6EXA on Ebay for a bit over half retail. I've also heard people talk about some radios being good for park flying and others not. Did I make a mistake in choosing this radio?

RE: Futaba 6EXA
You did well! There is a review of the Futaba 6EXA in Quiet Flyer for October, 2003 (Jim Tolpin, pp. 64-66) and he is very complimentary about it - it seems to be a good entry level computer radio and will be ideal for Park Flyers. If it came with all the servos and Rx etc, you will need to replace those with Pico/Naro/Micro versions if you want to fly small planes, but the Tx itself will be perfect. Remember Futaba is negative shift so if you need to get another Rx make sure it is compatible.
P.S. You are way ahead of me - I still have my original Futaba SkySport 6 (a dinosaur in this fast changing world)!
Cheers, Phil

RE: Futaba 6EXA
I bought a 6EXA transmitter from Bruckner Hobbies for just 79.00$ back in Oct and I really like it. The folks at Bruckner have some good prices on radio equipment and were prompt with shipment too. By the way, if you guys are looking for a good deal on a 4 channel transmitter, Bruckner sells the Futaba 4VF Skysport 4 channel transmitter for just 40.00 $ Not bad huh !
One thing I have found with the 6EXA though, you have to pay attention to the model memory settings on it before you plug your battery wires in. Twice I have plugged my batteries in and had the motor start on me with the throttle off. Dumb !
You have to make sure you choose the right model profile.
