Default My Dandy Sport AUW is 14.2 oz. Whats yours?

I just finished my first build from a most excellent kit. As stated it came in at 14.2 oz.
I would like to hear from others on their final flying weight and what you used for options.

I used;

SoLite (Nelson Film) covering.
AXI 2212/34 brush-less motor.
Kokam 3s1p 1500 mAh LiPo battery.
Castle Creations Phoenix 10 ESC
Less CA and more TiteBond.
Sanding sealer and dope paint on the balsa surfaces.
Dubro micro push rod kit on the ailerons.

The rest was stock.

I built mine with the stock setup, Solite covering and the 720Nimh battery and my auw was 11oz. Mine will almost hover with this setup and I get about 15 minutes flight time.

My Dandy Sport runs about 12.5 oz with the 720 mAh battery. Your three cell 1.5 a battery will add about 1.5 oz the your all up weight. The brushless ESCs are a bit heavier than the brushed type, and the paint will add a touch more weight.

At 14.2 oz the plane should still be a very good flyer.

I've also modified my Dandy landing gear since I fly on some rough fields.

I like the gear mod. My field is rough. I can't get the goats and lamas to do a better job. They do keep the grass short. I'm going to try your mod. Here comes more weight.

Here's an addition showing how the rear landing grear struts are attached.
There's a dowel thru the fuselage abour 1/4 inch from the bottom.

Rubber bands go around the rear strut and are secured to the dowel on either side.

Look for my article about this that I posted yesterday or the day before. It may help.

Jason;
Your setup is almost the same as mine. I must have used heavy glue or heavy paint. Good Job!
