Default Aerobird nose repair

Probably not a huge issue but I attempted to land my Aerobird on a vertical surface. [:@] This resulted in a dent in the nose. Any suggestions on repairing this or should I just leave it?

Easier to just leave it.

Have you checked to see if a hard frontal impact knocked the motor out of the mount, or if the tail boom got shifted? Did you fly after it got dinged?

The dent in the nose is just a distinguishing "character mark" on your plane. Think of it as a cleft chin.

Cheers!!!

Yes you can fix it. quite easily too. Same thing happened to me. what you do is take out the foam piece in the nose then hold the nose end over a candle ( not too close) with your finger inside feel until it gets warm enough and simply push it out. good as new!

Using a hair dryer also works well. Once you reshape it, it will stay that way once it is cool........until you crash it again that is!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. Even though it might not affect the flying characteristics, I think I'll make the repair as I'm sure I'll acquire more "distinguishing marks" as I continue to fly.

Thanks again for the suggestions. I worked on this last night and it went extremely well. I applied a little heat with my heatgun then formed it back out from the inside. Looks awesome...as good as new.

Now I'm ready to fly again!

James....be sure to check your controller board inside...make it is not loose. Also check your tail surfaces and control surfaces and responses BEFORe you launch. The bird survives crashes well...but she can be a little disjointed aftwards. You dont want to have repair things because you weren't careful to check for any other damages.
Have fun!

Shane
...now where did I put that epoxy?
