Default help - Mini Piper won't fly

I am not exactly a newbie, but am definitely new to electrics. I learnt to fly last year with the help of a great instructor - (Thunder Tiger Trainer, glow), but did not fly at all after last summer. I bought a Graupner Mini Piper from HL last month and built it up. The configuration is as follows:

Motor: Graupner speed 300
Controller: Great Planes C10 (12 amps max)
Battery: Graupner 6 cell 1000mah (HL recommended)
Servos: Hitech 555
Receiver: Hitech Feather
Prop: HL recommended 4.9x4.3
Flying weight: Just short of 12 ounces (kitchen scale)

The CG was perfectly balanced, with the plane absolutely horizontal at 45mm from the leading edge. Turned the throttle up and hand launched the plane into a light breeze (not more than 2-3mph). I did not touch the controls as mentioned in many threads. The plane flew for about 30 feet, slowly losing altitude, and dropped to the ground. Second attempt proved to be the same exercise. Third attempt, the same thing except that the plane flipped over after landing and the wing ripped from the fuse. I plan to fix that with gorilla glue.

My battery is fully charged ... in fact the plane tries to pull out of the hand at full throttle. What can I do to make it fly? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

A couple of clicks up on the elevator trim control. Then you're off!!! good luck.
