ESC for GWS E-Starter??
hi,
i currently have a GWS ICS 100 ESC which i was using on my century hummingbird micro heli, to cut a long story short i have had no luck with this micro, and am very interested in the GWS E-Starter (i have previous plane experience) an i am wondering weather the GWS ICS 100 is a suitable speed controller for this application?
the GWS ICS 100 is rated @5 amps continuous and 8 amps max
surley this plane wont draw more than 8 amps??
any help and comments much appreciated
thanx,
Chris

RE: ESC for GWS E-Starter??
depending on what gear set, prop. and battery you use you may or may not be able to use the ESC.
here is a short list of combos for the stock e-starter motor. http://www.balsapr.com/catalog/motor...ductId=T433964
hope that helps

You don't say what kind of battery you are going to be using.
According the GWS chart I have, the E-Starter will usually pull more than 8 AMPs at full throttle with an 8.4 V battery with the 350C.

Too close for comfort for me. With most props you'll be over the limit at full throttle.
Question for those following: If you burn out the esc in flight, will the BEC still provide power to the Rx, or are you simply toast?
