Grandpa returning to world of R/C flight!!!
Hey my Grandpa has flown remote control airplanes for about (give or take) 10 yrs. then he quit...to fly full scale homebuilt experimental aircraft...he sees me and my father flying R/C and he would like to start again...I told him since he probably wont want a gas airplane to fiddle with I suggested a electric...."Electric?!?!" he responded "airplanes?!!?!" I said yes...I then showed him my yard stik and told him it was a park flyer and he agreed that a small electric park flyer was a great idea (for what he is wanting to do...just a nice forgiving electric to fly by himself to have fun with)...I then pulled up a page with the parkzone J-3 Cub...and he liked it right away (although he had a hard time thinkin how small these models and *becoming electric* have gotten since he flew them)...he said it brought back some memories of his J-3....so I was wonderin if this would be a good model to re-introduce him to flying model aircraft ....or if there is a better model? he dosent have a transmitter or charger...so if you could help us it would be greatly appreciated...thank you

The Parkzone Cub would be ok I quess but I would be willing to bet there are better rtf electrics out there that would fit his needs. I knwo there are a few other manufactures that build J3s and would be willing to bet the radio gear might be better on them then the parkzone one. I have the parkzone J3 and it works but I do not care for the radio configuration on it. It has a slide for the throttle that is operated with your left thumb and it slides at an angle rather then up and down or side to side. I myself would have perfered a stick for throttle control.
the Parkzone will handle a few crashes with little damage and spare parts are reasonable. If you break the bracing inside the fus you have to replace the fus . If you try and glue it together it wil not fly properly.
