I recently bought a F27 Stryker after About 60 hours of flying my ABX"s. I find it extremely extremely touchy on the controls on the basic flight mode and it doesn't want to clime very well with out stalling. I did notice that the elevons are a little above the main wings at the tips only. Is this the way they all come set up from the factory? I don't think this will affect the flight that drasticly but maybe someone has had similar experience and could discuss.

RE: Trimming
The Stryker comes pretty well set for level flight when thrown and no hands are on the controls, full throttle. The set up seems to be done in a way so that when you throw it at full throttle, it needs a little bit of speed to get going and the throw is enough to have it fly just enough to get going. The up elevator attitude seems to help level it while it gets momentum. If you were to level them, the attitude of the plane would make it fall down until it got sufficient air underneath the wings. And since you don't throw it fast enough, from a short height, it would most definitely hit the ground before getting lift.
So I also observed that the Stryker's elevons, are slightly angled over the horizontal level edge, close to the vertical fins.
After a few crashes and lots of epoxy, then substituting epoxy for masking tape, my Stryker is a lot heavier I noticed and actually flies slower! Hmmm. I wondered if it was the electronics due to some crashes.
So, I changed all the parts of it and made it use a 4 channel radio. I use a 4 ch receiver and a GWS V Tail for the mixing of the aelerons and elevator. Stock motor and batteries. Using an ESC. The parts are really light. Oh ya, I also changed the servos!!!
Still waiting for the weather to test out the new digs.
