ALFA FW-190 "Karaya" Pics & Video
Here's my latest, ALFA's FW-190 painted in Graf's "karaya" .....
I cut a part of the music in the video so you can hear the motor and the plane zipping by. [link=http://home.earthlink.net/~samrc6/ALFA%20FW-190%20Video.wmv]VIDEO[/link]
Lower the Bass on your equalizer.

Very cool plane. Ever have any 1 say anything about the swastika on it? I like how detailed the plane is. It has a nice "wine" when it flys by you.

Thanks eflyer1,
About the swastika, I was talking to an Individual at the flying club this weekend. I showed him my FW-190, and he said he was an Israeli. Not wanting to offend him, I decided not to fly it that day.

Guys,
The swastika is an emblem of what we must never forget.
If we hide it from the future generations, then we will never have to answer questions to explain
that part of human history.
I display it on planes that it was on historically. Not to be insensitive. But in hopes someone will ask.

HEy Cuban, Flin,
Nice to see y'all over here as well
Again, great vid !
Swastika:
I look at it in simpler terms... "Karaya" had one on the tail...so the model should too.
Now, if Cuban had one etched on his forehead ,then that might be a different story
Omission doesn't change the facts. If we are going to be PC ,let's not make it one-sided.It could be offensive to fly any plane that caused massive destruction . Would it be "wrong" to fly a scale model of "Enola Gay" ? Or B-17's that rained bombs on German cities ? How about Zeros , Kates ,Oscars and George's ? What about Corsairs ,Hellcats ,P-51's etc... ? These planes had one purpose. They don't call them "Warbirds" for nothing.
I doubt any of our little toy planes represent our political/social views.
I'm certainly not a Nazi, but my Luftwaffe birds have authentic markings.
Anyone that has a problem with that is a short-sighted individual.
I had a few of my birds at the folks house, my Step dad's friend came over along with his son-in-law who happened to be an ex-Israeli tank commander. They only had the usual comments/questions we get from non-Rc flyers ...you guys know these ,i'm sure... "Wow, cool!" " How fast is it?"
"what kind of motor is that?...gas? " ," Can it do flips ?" lol ...

Hey Cubano 8? What does it fly like? I have this plane, and it looks so good that I am afraid to put it in the air. I flew the Alfa LA-7, and it flew well, but just wasn't quite stable enough, and liked to continue rolling on turns (probably tip stalling). I am admittedly not an expert, but think that if the FW flys just a bit better than the LA, I could handle it ok.
P.S. The minimal damage to the firewall on direct impact was a pleasant surprise. Well built planes.

Fockewulf190,
If you can fly the LA-7 , you can definately fly the FW-190. Don't be afraid to fly it, you'll be missing out on a lot of fun.
I must admit flying the LA-7 is much fun to fly 'cause of the easy snap-rolls it can do, but the FW is a very stable plane.
Good luck.

Thanks Arthur GA and hargravebl,
Portuguese huh? I thought it was Italian all along. I just used the reference for the paint scheme, If someone was interested on where I got it. I wish I could read Portuguese though.
