Help Installing Pinion on Zagi Motor
I bought the Zagi 400 reversed timed motor and the GP 3:1 BB aluminum gearbox to install on my Scooter. The pinion that comes with the gearbox won't slide onto the motor shaft. It's too tight to slide on. The pinion has a setscrew. Should I drill out the hole in the pinion or ?? I read a thread that said that the pinion would probably be loose and to use Loctite along with the setscrew. Not an option at this point unless I drill it out!
Once I get it on, is there a proper spacing between the gears?
Ideas?
Thanks - Larry

Heat it up. Metal expands when it gets hot. I'm not sure what you mean by the spacing between the gears, though.
