Winter Solstice Flying!!
Today is Winter Solstice. The shortest day of the year, which means here in the frozen north, the sun sets around 4:15 and the days are very cold. This morning it was 18 below zero but that didn't stop me from flying after work. I converted my old Cox EZ Bee slimmer to brushless and li-poly power. I used a Nippy 1210 brushless motor and a 1320mah 11.1V li-poly battery and this thing flies great!! Almost goes vertical but also will float with the best of them!! I also added skiis for the ice and snow this time of year. I got some great flights in today before my fingers got numb. Anyone else out there do winter flying? Oh, I also added curtek lights for easier navigation during our dark days. Unfortunately I don't have any photos from the field. Too cold for my fingers to work the cam.
