Oh Roger. Why'd ya go and say we were the same age. I was trying to get Randy established as the old guy and myself as a younger guy. Geez. I'm going to try to edit YOUR post.

You guys know better then anyone, so ill just ask it here instead of a new thread.

What charger should I get? I need one who can charge EVERYTHING. Prefferably a 2 porter. Price range in between 100 and 150 dollars.
Accu-Cycle Elite from hobbico is perfect, but unavailable in europa, and getting one from USA would mean 34% tax ontop of the purchase price. [&:]
Shoot me some suggestions? Thanks.

Hey Freakdude. I have the Hobbico Elite. Around $150 because it is AC?DC. Like the guys I work with. I am now of the opinion that the Triton is better. Only DC but real good. We discussed this on the Does Anyone Fly thread a long time ago. Randy has the Triton and swears buy it and a good point to remember is that most of the Hobhy store guys have the Triton. NOT the Hobbico. Cruise over to the local flying field and see what they are using. I'm guessing the number one model is the Triton.

Freak, from what I have looked at and had recommended to me, the Triton charger seems to be it. Will charge up to 23 cells NiMH and NiCds and 1-4 Li-Po's along with car batteries! Has the readouts to tell you what is happening. Captain can tell you all about it. He has one.

Lou, Lou, my man! You misread! I said Randy and ME are the same age. Not you! I do think the Captain did just recently pass me up by one tho.

I dont do clubs.. I have my reasons. But why is the triton so good? Im not looking for high capacity or big cellcounts, and I really like the 2 outputs of the elite.

Hey Roger,
Does that mean I can tell everyone I'm not 51? say, 38 or so?
My body gave out long ago. Crummy back like you and this current thing that I hope will go away.
Heli notes. Just painted the canopy a "Pearl Grape" It is a pearlescent color with metal flake in it. I like this. Can't paint the Badius as yellow isn't my favorite color. I prefer blue, purple or green.
Badius notes. Got up this morniong and by the time I got my flight stuff together the wind came up. I figured I'd go ahead and fly anyway and the farm workers show up. Harvesting time so there is a lot of equipment and stuff out there. Maybe by this afternoon they will be past the area I fly in.

Yep, go for it Lou! By the way, don't worry about things I am doing. I have figured in your project right along with the others. It's already part of the agenda! There is nothing else I am going to build for a while, except maybe the Cub Randy and I have been talking about. It's not available yet. I will just be flying when I can and that is not often![:@]

Hi Roger.
Ok. I'll look around today and see what size servos it takes.Do you have a preference of covering brands? Or, you can just cover it any way you see fit and I'll send a check for the stuff you need.

Sorry, the way you said it sounded as tho you had it. The better the charger, the more cells it can handle. That's just seems the way it is. To get the best electronics, it seems that you will have to buy the more expensive ones. I have a good charger, Hobbico MKII that handles 1-8 NiMH and NiCds and 1-3 Li-Po's, $49.00 american, but, it does not fully charge my Li-Po's. I have been told that is the way with all the cheaper ones. That's I recommend the Triton. Good electronics and is, by far, not the most expensive one. $129.00 american. Don't know what else to say.

Oh yeah, I don't do culbs either. Reread your post #305 and you will see what I mean about reading post only one time. That was the last one I read, and with my feeble mind, I mistakenly took it you had that charger. You don't have to scold me.

Hi Roger,
It'll work with a dual conversion rx. Tell me the crystal number you need and I'll send it.

Lou, for that size plane, MonoKote would be a good one. I use it along with EconoKote. Econocote is lower heat and a little cheaper, but, is not as tuff as the MonoKote. Being low heat, it may wrinkle a little in hot sun. The plans should tell you if you need more that one roll. Here, one roll is about $12. I can take care of that for now and shouldn't need anything but epoxy. If you want to just send the roll of your color with it and package of epoxy that would be fine, too. Everything else should be the electronic stuff you can send later. Depends on how it is put together, I may need some of it before I cover it. You might look at the plans about that. Either way, no problem here.

Roger,
Ok. I'll cruise back over to the LHS and see what colors they have. Probably tomorrow. Might take me a while to figure out what servos to get.

No offence intended mate. Cant see eachothers faces when youre talking, so its hard to see in wich emotion it is expressed.

The reason I like the dual output on the elite, 2 ports mean theres a pack ready every 30 minutes instead of every 60. And lets say you get 15 mins of flight time on a pack. With one chargeport it means 45 minutes of nothing untill you can fly again.

I coulnd care less if it has an AC hookup though, I have a lab PSU, and 12 lead acid 12v 7Ah. batteries laying around (From my good old robotwars days. [8D]).

The same thing is on the Hobbico MKII. I like that, too. Charge two at once. I meant to say that.

Black Cloud, are you sure about that? I looked up my Hitec 6ch rec and it is dual conversion, but, you still have to order negative or positive shift. Clue me in.

Hi Roger,
My LHS told me that dual conversion RX will figure out your TX. I haven't had trouble with one yet. I think the simgle conversion rx's are being fased out once you hit 5 channels. That's about all I know. One more thing. The LHS says that all rx's will recieve line of sight no matter how far away your plane gets. I think that's true to a certain degree. I don't get out of range for the 500 meter / 1500 feet rx's. I do think that your chance of radio failure will increase the further away you get. Fast planes might need a better rx along with high flying gliders.

Wow;

I go out of town for a while and I end up with an hours reading!

Brent - what are your control throws on the ultimate, and are you using dual rate?

Lou - Glad the grape windmill is going together for you - need to see some pics

All;

Here are my puppies, boy and girl purebred standard poodles. Great dogs

Is it just me?

In order to upload files to the post, I have to post just the text, then edit the post and then I get a button that lets me upload files. How do I do it in one step?
