RE: The Badius Owners Club
grounded
how are you?,
many Moons ago you helped me make a choice on the Stryker in a UK forum.. many thanks [8D]
did you ever get the corsair to fly?
i was gonna suggest you use a Scud Missile as a Launch vehicle for it
some RPV's are meant to fly and other are not [&o]
agcatsbest
Lesson learned [&o]
ok its time to confess..
for those of you who know me from the Stryker thread i am very carefull with lipo's and props
also to test the temperature of battery pack i check with fingers first and if i cant feel any heat i use my lips,
on one occasion i was checking the ESC with my lips and put down the Tx..
as i put it down the Tx the Aerial touched the Aluminium flight box at the Very moment i had my lips on the ESC and the prop Swished around and knocked my glasses off !
Lesson Learned..
Never Kiss a Stryker or play with a Cub !!

Cadetman's the only guy I know that uses his lips as a temp probe. Must be something the Brits do.
Hey check it out, also from the other side of the pond. www.power-motion.com
New site my "contact"[8D] was sneaking me peeks at.
May be the new future in packs.

GG,
Have it your way.
Dibs on the watch, planes and weiner dog.
RE: new bats. There is a company here in the states that is developing the same type of bats that GG posted a link to. These new bats charge exceptionally fast. Faster than nimhs or nicads. Certainly something to keep an eye on. Thanks for the link GG.

Loubud
why waste time.. if i use a Stryker on each foot i may just get there before you
Geez, Cadetman. Use your imagination. Strap a Sky Scooter to each foot. You'll be here in no time.

Hey ALL
DIBS ( as he places his hand on the retirement portfolio ) [8D]
Hey GG and CM Welcome to the Owners club What other planes ( besides the Stryker ) do you guys fly.
And photos too ( if ya got em).
I finally found out why the Magpie AP was squarely, because when I maiden-ed it ( the video ) it flew great, but as time went on it flew like crap.
I put it away for awhile and broke it out last night then set it up with the new motor, well it still flew like crap.
I brought it home and found the problem, the elastics I was using ( same kind form the beginning) were not strong enough to support the weight of the fuse with the new 3 cell and 5 oz cam. with the fuse loaded up, holding the wings at the tips, the fuse actually seperated from the fuse[X(] .
Used stronger elastics and flew it this afternoon, flew GREAT , I also found some thermals and was up FOREVER. I also put the CVS OTU came on it and got some great video ( too big to post 124 meg), SSOO I got my daily fix[8D]
Howard and I will be flying Sat. and the LHS kid may be joining us.
Well enough babble
Later All
Brent

RE: The Badius Owners Club
Hey All
SOB I just lost my Slow Stick[&o]
As I sit here and type, I can see the red and green led's sitting atop a 60+foot tree[:'(]
I am SSOO bummed, this plane is LOST, these trees are in the middle of a swamp.
I won't spell out the details BUT, Happy hour had something to do with it, CRAP.
This plane had a CC25 ESC, a Dymond models 2,000 mah 3 cell lipo, it had a Hitec feather rx and a Feigao 1308441S 4.43:1 brushless motor.
WOW this is the first plane I have lots in more than a year[:@]
HHOO well, NO MORE DRIVEWAY FLYING......... AT NIGHT

RE: The Badius Owners Club
Yikes! and Gadzooks!!
Brent!!! Rotten news. Grab some fishing waders and get back out there. The lipo is getting weak as we speak.
Seriously. Sorry to hear this. Geez. We hear of things coming in threes. First Sticks and his hand,Brent with his SS stuck in a tree. What or who is next.
Let me brighten the mood a bit. Sticks sent me the Aerofly from this Arkansas Testing Grounds. This box is HUGE. I must say that it is exceptionally well boxed and made it without a scratch. The box that is.
I'm off to open it up.

Ok so we go and grab Hollyweeds SS, on the way to pilage Sticks place.
Hmmmmmm, haven't heard from RayRay lately, buggers(brit word) he's already on his way while we sit here and plan.
Roger, keep an eye on the pooch, they always know when there's a weak one in the pack. You may find him trying to eat you.

RE: The Badius Owners Club
Brent's plane is a glow trainer i believe and like mine, uses rubber bands to hold the wing on. works well, but mine is glow and i'm a bit worried about the oil damaging the rubber and the wing falling off.
hey Lou, is smoking the white owl like chasing the dragon ??? i know that fags are g-a-y-s in the US but we Brits are tough and smoke em !!
went flying this morning with my only friend in Japan, who is Israeli. i haven't seen him in ages and he's suddenly become interested in being a pilot and has all sorts of questions about flying. now he's seen my planes he wants to build one from foam from the hardware store. i tried to talk sence to him and get him to buy a badius but to no avail. i think he'll get a pilot's licence, but i had to break it to him he'll never earn much as a pilot as he's too old to get into the airline game. windy day and my himax outrunner aileron badius dissapeared downwind into the next field (yes, a REAL field) breaking an aileron servo.
hope the hand isn't so sore Roger and get well soon. i'm going to buy some bandages for my glow flight box as i always fly it alone and would have to drive myself to hospital if i got bitten by a plane or snake !! off to buy some more wing servos !
