RayRay,

Slow down, Take a deep breath... We will get this all figured out for sure and without going brushless. I will try some other props and also the stock motor to see what happens.
The stock prop is not that great, but may try it anyway. It is a bit smaller in the bite that the Great Planes that I tried, so should draw a bit less.

Are you going to use Lipos? if not, I can send you 2 MOSFETS to put in the SD controller, or if you don't want to do it. send it to me and I'll put 2 MOSFETs in for you.

The controller will be good for 40 amps

IFly

(Sorry all for the multiple posts)

Yes the MM400 T & F can be used as a pusher, you'll have to make a some sort of hub for the out running part, this hub will have to have a prop shaft on it.

I got a dead MM400 T from Doug, some day I will rewind it and try it out on the Stryker I want to build, and of course it will be a pusher.

Hope it helps

Check out www.align.com.tw for a price list on this stuff. You can't buy from them from Align but Grand Rc has brushless stuff for about the same here in the U.S.A.
Yup align is also in ebay! I snaged a 18amp esc for $35bucks!

I believe these tiny wires are the reason you are told not to cut or shorten the motor leads on most brushless motors. Some people would not understand that each of the wires has to be stripped, cleaned and soldered or the motor may burn out! From the factory they have that end already prepared to solder to your plugs.

Next is just to show that this motor does have bearings. In other picts you can see the bearing on the other end.
The second pict is with windings complete and all soldered.
Last is the completed and fully repaired motor!

I know I didn't tell everything I did, but, if anyone wants to try to rewind a burned out motor like this, I will try to answer any questions. My wire was a little bit thinner than the stock so I added two wires to each wind seg. Worked out perfect.
That Motor Rocks! I have that on my clipped wing slow stick with a GWS 400F gearbox. If You use the F GWS gearbox it can Haul a bigger prop 12x8 gws prop!

Lou, About 400. The next time you're up this way give a hollar. I'll do the same. We have crystal blue skies and zero wind (except in the summer). -Andy

I have an aunt that lives in Sacramento. I don't get up that way very often. I get as far as Fresno and turn right. I don't stop till the cell phone loses connection. Nice up there.

Captain,

Thank you, I'm calm again. Lou & I just had a chat and he clarified everything - thanks Lou. We're going with the old 380 Badius motor and stock ESC. We are going to cut the stock servos in half to fit in the wings.
Just kidding

Hollywood. I'll PM you about the stock ESC. Thanks.

Take care,

Ray Ray

I got in one pretty good flight with the Decath today before the wind went nuts! It started missbehaving at the end of the flight and I had trouble getting it down in one piece. The wind had odd choppy gusts pitching the plane to and fro! Got some of it on video and am working on that now. Should have it ready by tomorrow night.

Kicked off? Who? "Teflon Randy"? No Way. Sponsorship would be down 50% if he left
As a matter of fact we are all responsible for alot of the sales at Raiden.
I want free planes from them!
