hi Mike, i put 2x arc 110 watt motors into the fans with 2x 18 amp cc thunderbird escs. i'm running them off a 12c 3200 3 cell polyquest bat. the arc motors were only $30 each and the esc $32, but i don't know what you can get. i kept the power down as space was limited for the bat. don't know what it flies like yet, watch out for the maiden report in the future

hooray, i actually got my car into the flying field, so tomorrow or next week i can begin flying again. didn't take any planes today, just a spur of the moment check. only thing is, there is some snow at the foot of the road leading into the field and my car skidded on this getting out and buggered up the tracking. hey ho !!

GG Thanks for the paint info. I didn't know that the lexan paint was water based. I will check it out when I
go to the LHS tomorrow nite for Heli nite.

As for the pass around PLoat, what a cool idea, I look forward to giving it a try. I'll do my best to pass it on un molested.

I think I'd like to try the ploat last. Maybe I can blame a crash on some previous damage or something. Take it down to the marina after I get the hang of it and harass the Harbor Patrol.

Checked out the Witch video. Very cool. A guy in one of the other local clubs has one. Actually this is number 2. number 1 flew off after some type of radio failure at a show last year. It was funny, just kept circling , getting a little farter and higher each lap until the engine quit. then just flew away downwind over the swamps. never did find her. He also has the flying lawn mower, and some Gyrocopters and other unusual stuff

I like that Witch plane. I think that lawn mower plane is a riot. Should be in everyones hanger. I'd harrass the Harbor Patrol with the Mower too.

Brent,
Got the Tiger Moth straightened out. I used the fiberglass rods from a trashed Badius wing to get the wings right. I also added weight doing that so I have a geared 280 motor I'll put on it for better power. The motor it came with is tiny. I'll try that one out on the stick plane assuming I get that one finished.

Ice, Lancair looks great! Best of luck on the maiden. If you want any Graphics or 'N' numbers or whatever,
let me know. I will hook you up. That goes for all you guys. As a matter of fact I will make an offer right now for all you regular members up here that I will send you a sample graphic of your choice free for the asking. You all seem to be pretty generous with each other, so I will share what i can do w/ you guys. I have some good pics in my profile of stuff I did on some of my own planes.

Ice, I also hear you are the latest user/ abuser of the "Ploat" let me know when you are done, I'd like to give it a try myself.

I am trying to get some of my pics in order, and will post some soon.

Hi All,
Hazy is running around cussing up a storm. Seems he talked to Capt. Randy and Randy decided to make his Cub electric and sold all his glow equipment. Hazy had to refund his twenty bucks. Talk about mad. First he lit his cigarette on the wrong end and when putting it out he missed the ash tray and got his whiskey glass. New refill too. He's off to the store to get another botlle.

Icejay,

Looking forward to hearing how the Lancair flys. Just yesteday I stopped by my LHS for some misc. stuff, and because I can't stay away from there for more than a couple of days at a time, and I one on the shelf. I was very temped to grab it, but my RC budget is in check for the moment. Yours looks great. That is an interesting motor mount set up.

Good luck on your maiden and please let us know how she flies!

Adam

Emultion paint is just a water based paint used on domestic internal walls, we get match pots over here to allow small areas to be painted on your walls to see if you like the colour.

Airbourne thanks for the info, try the maiden in the snow soft landings ensured.

Icejay,

Can you explain what the servo with two control rods connected does? It looks like there are two rods going to the rear which makes sense for an elevator and rudder, two servo wires run into the wings, OK - but what is the rod going forward that is proportional to either the rudder or elevator????

Thanks!

Scott

Bald Eagle,
Ah just differrent terminology, over here we just call it latex paint. No free samples, but bring in a chip or swatch and they have a computer thingy that analyzes it and comes up w/ a matching formula.

Terry,
It's all your fault.
Got home last night, new doggie fence in. Has 3 foot wide gates, one on each side of the house..................my lawn tractor is 58" wide.
I am not mowing the whole back yard by hand. May have to look into buying some sheep.

NY;

Thanks for the graphics offer... may take you up on that sometime. If you have a local Benjamin Moore Paint dealer, try them. They sell little 3-4 oz "test pots" of paint in any color you can imagine. Watered down a bit it should be lots for a fuse or wing...

BB;

Easy fix:

Use helicopter to airlift trtactor into back yard

or

Drive into back yard REALLY FAST once. New gate made.

You think I dont have an answer for everything [X(]

You must be feeling better.. hows the back anyway? I see by your last post you were out flying, did you convince Mrs BB to go and get some video? Still want to see the vertical torque roll.

Terry,
Nah, I'm still supposed to be flat on my back, resting. I snuck out when she was out.

As for your idea, it caused me to remember that the Kubota backhoe is down in the shed, which is inside new fenced area. Hmmmmm.
It was the drugs honey, honest.

Best Boy,
Wrong answer for the drug test. Hazy said you play it dumb. Something like you thought you had it in a dream. Haze said that you must look stunned that it actually happened. Then pretend to count the amount of pills you have left and claim you made a boo boo and took 2 too many. Remember the stunned look. Very important.
Caution to the rest of you. It will not work with the Police Dept. Hazy didn't say why he knows. Only works with sympathetic wives.
