Best GWS P-51 video I've seen yet ! Thanks for sharing. In my opinion, it's a first class plane. What do you have under the hood ?

Thanks,

I have a Himax 2025-4200 brushless motor, the ESC is a CC-25, prop is an APC 8x6 TE, and battery is a TP 3s 2100mah Li-Po.

The GWS P-51 in my opinion is not that hard to fly with the brushless setup that I have. Now, if you are new to RC flying, I suggest that you start out with a simple easy to fly high wing trainer, like the GWS Beaver or Slowstick etc. Then gradually work your way up to an aileron trainer, and so forth. Another Inexpensive option is a flight simulator.
For me these warbirds are not that hard to fly, but that comes from experienced gain from trainers all the way up to low wing trainers, and flight simulators. Another thing is the more time you practice the better you get. So, like they say practice, practice , practice...

The Glassing part of it was accomplished with .75oz cloth and miniwax polycrylic, found in most hardware stores. It is a simple process, just lay the cloth over the foam, and apply the miniwax product with a brush. It is very easy, and you'll be an expert on your 1st attempt.

Thanks for the glass info i will try it.

The planes that iam flying at the moment are the formosa, ultrafly pc9, and a built up wing pc9. I still crash every now and then, so do you think p51 be the best warbird to start with.

No, I would start out with a GWS Corsair. It is the easiest to fly out of the GWS warbirds IMHO.

I use the GWS 400 gearbox, and geared 3.90 to 1. Which is the "F" gearing. Now, not to be confused, I do not use the 3mm pinion gear, I used the 2mm pinion gear 18T with the the 400 "F" 70T spur gear. The 2mm 18T GWS Part # is a GW-EPS-91. I order them from Aeromicro, but E-flightline.com should have them too. This 2mm pinion gear fits perfectly on the Himax shaft, and with a little thread lock glue, it will hold on good

Great video Cubano8. I just got my P-51 in the mail yesterday. The only thing was the decals were all messed up. O-well have to be original with the paint scheme i guess. How does the Glassing work I am not vary familiar with it. Any tips on putting it together?

Keep it light if you are going stock. Otherwise go brushless. Use the GWS glue supplied, it may take longer to dry, but the weight would be less if you try to epoxy it.

Here's a link I started on a GWS ME-109e to G6 conversion, that shows the glasiing procedure.

Here's another ME-109 glassing link that might help to.

If you know how to make decals, this link will help you.

thanks for the tips, and I am definitely going brussless. I'll be using a Hi-max 4200 for the nose. Not sure if I'll go for the glassing though and knowing me I'll probably crash her within the first 5 flights. To much work to justify crashing her. We'll see how it goes though.
