Not your granddads Slow Stick!
OK, so the only SS parts are the wing mounts and servo mounts. This is my new photo plane. home-made aluminum gear, built up tail surfaces, laminated spruce boom, steelhead custom foam wing, Nippy 1812/100, 3s2200 battery pack. Camera is an Optio S4 with Prizm switch. AUW about 30 ounces I think, scale broke though. Will still go vertical out of my hand, but flys on the wing much better than with the stock wing. Span is 48", 36" boom, quite a bit larger than a stock SS. Handles wind much better, and can lift quite a bit.

Sounds like it flys very well compared to the stock SS.

RE: Not your granddads Slow Stick!
The STEELHEAD WING was designed to allow for better windy day performances as well as carry a lot more payload.
We believe we have the best wing for the SS out there for AP! CAF seems to like it Allows for the airfoil to lift the plane, instead of the AoA on the wing doing it all. Still allows for a good Float time as well, but not the same really super slow stall speed.
