Default Firebird Commander Wing Getting Eaten by Prop

Every time I land (crash) the wing is getting eaten by the prop. Is there anything I can apply to the wing to protect it? How about a way to keep the wing more secure? The prop is talking huge chunks out of the back of the wing. I've gone through 2 wings just today, my first time flying it.

Do you have the wing on backwards? (I did the first time and the same thing happened to me!). Put on correctly, there is a clear plastic protector for the wing on the trailing edge of the wing.

Or--Have you put the rubber bands on acording to instructions? If not, the wing can move at impact and contact the prop.

Clear packing tape on all of the wing edges will prevent that.
I also put the kind on that has fiberglass in it to protect the area where the rubberbands attach.
I flew today and I lost a small chunk out of the wing and it was the darn 1 inch spot that I didn't protect.

Thanks for the info. I did a plastic pop bottle/packing tape job and it worked great!

Yep. I have taped up everything on my Vortex that I think might get hurt in a crash.
Might have added a little weight but better than buying wings all the time.
Whats the pop-bottle fix?

I cut a rectangular section of a 2L pop bottle, folded it in half then put it around the damaged area with some packing tape. I had a pretty big chunk missing.

I am a newb but have many, many Aerobird Challenger flights under my belt so far... The best way to avoid what you are experiencing is to simply cut the throttle when you crash...
