GWS formosa
Im looking into a new plane still dont know what yet but the formosa sounds like a good third plane. I want to get the 350 and use 2 survos one elevator and one aliron. I was wondering if i could use a 2 cell li-po in this plane its 7.4 volts with 1320 mA

If its a relatively new pack ( gen 2, yellow strip on label, not blue.) it should be good. Older Thunder Power packs were really pushed hard by a maxed out 350 motor.
Consider adding the rudder servo... you can't knife edge without it!

Yes you can. I still did not install the himax4100 I bought for it and fly the original 350 can with a two cell LiIon 2000mAh pack and a 9x6 APC prop.
I am getting about 15min flights with WOT almost all the time; you should fare better 'cos the LiPo pack has much lower resistance.
Do not forget to retime the 350, as the default setting is neutral.

It doesn't look to me like we are answering his question. Is the GWS formosa a good third plane? It depends on what you had for your first 2 planes. The Formosa is fast (heavy wing loading), it is not an ailron trainer. Use the e-starter or Mountain Models Dandy for that. Let us know your experience and we can give you better advise.

Hmmm,
Nitpicking, I thought I answered his question. At least for me, the Formosa was a good second plane (after a slowstick, the unfortunate PiperCub I had some two years ago is not counted, as it didn't stand a chance :-).
Why do you feel it's not a good aileron trainer? If you can handle it (and some flight simulator sessions can always guarantee you will), it is arguably more rewarding to fly a low wing than e.g. the e-starter. However, if he wants to step-up in a milder way, a spectacular biplane like the TigerMoth would be a good option too.
Anyway, the parts he has are good enough for either one and he can fly OK with only elevator and ailerons. Yes, there are maneuvers he can't do without rudder, but we're still beginners and the rudder servo can be added later (providing he adds the tube for it when building his model).
Cheers,
Serban

RE: GWS formosa
My Formosa is set up with an AXI 2808/20 powered by TP 3S1660 LiPo. Even when using a small propell (8x4) there is way to much power on full throttle... I am not a beginner and feel this is not a trainer! But; of course I use big throws, with smaller throws it can be flown as an aileron-trainer I suppose...
The biggest disadvantage with the Formosa are the aileron-connection, go for a much stiffer set so the ailerons center when the servo is centered! And of course use rudder.....
