RTF ParkFlyer
I'm looking for a parkflyer to just mess around with at the local parks. I consider myself an intermediate pilot, flying .40 trainers and low wings for a while now. I am looking for a RTF 4 Channel Parkflyer that i can fly and do some basic aerobatics with at the local park. I just cant seem to find that "perfect plane". I was looking at parkflyers.com Cessna 182. It seemed very complete ready to go, 4 channel, nice looking. Only problem is it's a high wing and i'm sure i would get bored easily. Are there any similar planes like that in a aerobatic type? I'm not against ARF's but usually by the time you buy the everything that's required ie. flight pack, speed controller, charger, ect. it winds up costing you around $300. I definently need to keep it around $200 or less.
So if anyone out there can think of a electric parkflyer that's:
1. RTF (same day you get it)
2. 4 Channel (with ailerons)
3. $200 or so
4. Looks good and flies even better
5. Capable of intermediate aerobatics (Rolls, loops, flatspins, inverted flight, ect.)
6. Comes with some decent electronics
I would appreciate any info, Thanks!!!!!!

RE: RTF ParkFlyer
Take a look at www.raidentech.com.
They have a Cessna 182, 4-channels, complete with all electronics for $115.00.
Again, it's a high wing, but the price might be right.
I'm now learning to fly the Art-Tech Cessna 182 (3 channels), doing loops, etc. I'm planning to purchase the raidentech Cessna when I'm ready for a 4-channel plane.

RE: RTF ParkFlyer
Parkflyers.com has two possible planes for you. Both are high wing planes, one is a Cessna, the other called a Begin-Air which is meant to be an aileron trainer (similar to hobby zone aerobirds but with ailerons). Both are $180 and have 4 channels, all electronics, a radio, and speed 480 motors. There are some videos of them flying, so you can get an idea of how fast they can go / climb and what they can do, in one of the videos the Cessna does some inverted flight for a short period, in another the Begin-Air does a fairly loose roll (I think that's what it was).
I just purchased the Begin-Air as I have been flying a 3 channel Slo V and want to move up to a plane with a bit more power (for windy days like today, gonna post a video of my flight and my...er...rough landing), and also I want to learn to fly a plane with ailerons. I just bought a computer radio and reciever, so the Begin-Air was a nice choice because there is an option to get the plane with everything except the radio and reciever for $110. Like you I'm not ready to build a full blown kit, and while I don't mind an ARF (and saw many really nice one's I wanted), I also didn't want to spend all the extra money on the electronics (not to mention still not fulling knowing which ESC goes with which LiPo and which Motor goes with pepperoni). I really like the fact that I can use my radio and reciever with this plane, but it comes with all the other electronics installed and at a good price. And I won't be too afraid of breaking it when I crash, since it designed to be a trainer and take some abuse. Who knows, a few battle scars might actually make it look better!
I did a lot of looking before I bought, and I didn't find very many choices of RTF or nearly RTF planes that had ailerons. There were some that came with some of the electronics and were only around $150-$175, but you still had to build the plane (kit form) and supply the radio and reciever.

RE: RTF ParkFlyer
Thanks, There seems to be a few cessna's out there that match my needs but not to many low wing's or aerobatic planes. I love some of the parkzone planes i just found (P-51 and Typhoon 3D), problem is the ones i want are either out of stock or don't come till the summer. Also has anyone bought and flown the HANA RTF from Hot Bodies?

THREE CHANNEL ELEVATOR/AILERON OR ELEVON PLANES
These planes introduce ailerons but do it on a 3 channel design without a
rudder. They typically have throttle/aileron/elevator control, or they have
elevons which combine the function of ailerons and the elevator into one
surface. There are a few RTF packages here. The rest are ARF or kits and
will require you to buy a radio system.
Take a look at the Videos. The Stryker might be fun. There is an air to air combat module for this plane.

Yeah i saw where the electronics were removable, which is great. I also just saw that it won best hobby airplane or somthing like that for 2005. I just wish i could see some videos of the thing flying to see what it will really be capable of
Also, how are the electronics on the Stryker?? Is the transmitter O.K.? Do different websites sell the stryker with different transmtters or is the just one standard TX. Finally, best price on the Strker RTF. Thanks.

The stryker is available as a RTF only including 27 mhz transmitter. You could buy the parts and build your own and put in your own electronics, but it is not sold that way.
I have heard of people buying the Stryker fuse and related parts and making them into slope gliders.

Which plane are you referring to? Both the Stryker F27 and the New P-51D Mustang are Parkzones.

RE: RTF ParkFlyer
Try a Space scooter. If you have some electronics, i.e. Tx, Rx, some servos? a brushless set-up, motor, ESC, foam kit, would cost ~$200.00. The foam kit is $56.00. With a brushless motor, this baby rips! As aerobatic as you want to get. Don't let the weenie name 'Scooter' fool you. Mine runs around 75mph, has a roll rate of ~3/sec. and goes straight up. BIG FUN for medium $$. Good luck!

Has anyone heard of a due date for the New PZ Mustang or PZ Typhoon. I know it has to be real soon right? I cant find the info anywhere. Also, is the Typhoon coming from PZ with brushless setup already in it ready to go?
