Lighten up!!
I was just curious about everyones techniques to make their planes lighter? My plane is fairly light, but I'm having trouble gaining altitude. I've tried another prop, and it works good, but it seems a bit too easy... :devious:
Thanks!

What plane are you flying and what engine size makes a difference when you start to lighten. Also what is you flying ability or skill level? Do you need a strong tough plane that can with stand your crash and bash landings or are you able to make it do what you want and land it at your feet each time.
1. Look at your structure do you need that 3/4 inch ply wood for a fire wall?
2. Is your wing saddle more beefed up than necessary?
3. Are the ribs solid or are they open?
4. Did you choose the best and lightest wood possible when made up your kit?
5. Did you use carbon fiber instead of fiber glass?
6. did you cover it with the lightest covering?
7. Did you use the minimum number of servos?
8. Did you use a micro servo on the throttle?
9. Did you use arrow shafts instead of hard wood dowels for push rods?
10. Ultra light wheels?
