Default question of motor for slow stick

I have decided to buy a slow stick for my first plane, and was trying to decide what motor/gearbox. Could someone tell me the difference between the 300 and the 400 GWS motors/gear boxes? Which is better?

Thanks in advance

Default RE: question of motor for slow stick

For the sake of discussion they are essentially the same, I too started with the SS and started with the 300 motor, then moved up to the 400 and now am running a brushless/lipo setup. The difference between the 300 and 400 are almost neglegable in the air. Especially as a beginner I really would'nt say that you'd notice much difference. As you get better you will notice a bit more power with the 400. So, if I were starting over knowing what I know now, I probably would start off with the 400. Gearbox is escentially the same-structure wise-.

Many people report that the 400 being heavier will mean the plane flies a little faster to stay aloft.
