Best RTR bang for around $200?
Looking to get a last minute birthday gift for my 16 year old. What is the best plane & deal for someone who has successfully flown low wing glow powered models? I'm looking for something he could fly in our backyard (it's large) or at the nearby park. Thanks in advance!

Try a sky scooter. High wing, aileron plane. With just a battery upgrade, it flies great. Very repairable, and comes with 72mhz equipment, (AM), and quality servos which can be used in a later project. Under $150.00 with everything but Tx batteries included. The stock 7 cell 700mah NiCad battery will fly it OK, radio shack has an 8cell 1600mah NiMh battery which will bring her to life, as do many other battery houses. Best bang for your buck IMHO.

Hands down the parkzone Mustang for $180 is the best choice. It flies great right out of the box and looks spectacular! It comes with an 1100mah nimh pack, but the onboard electrics will accept a Lipo pack with just a jumper removal. Check out my video over on RCGroups.com in my gallery to see what this thing can do. There's also a nice video over on Parkzone.com site.

The Stryker from Parkzone is a lot of fun. I keep it in my trunk and fly at the park on the way home from work.
$ 159.00 for everything, including AA batteries for the transmitter

Thanks for the input folks! I decided on the Parkzone Typhoon 3D, but they are not yet available. I settled on a the G3 flight simulator for now and he seems to be real happy with it ('ole dad is getting some benefit too).
Thanks again!
