Best setup / RPM's for stck setup esc & motor
SIG EP42, stock motor, 1100mah NIMH battery 7 cell 8.4 V prop is 7X5, SIG ESC 30AMP controller
I do not want to change to brushless yet, but want to make sure all is working as intended.
I have an RPM meter and want to know at full throttle on a fully charged battery, what should I be expecting here.
And, will the 8 cell battery 11.1V give me more RPM's ?
I know a guy at the field who put a LIPO in the stock setup and he fried the motor ?

The 3- cell Lipo will deliver more voltage to the motor. That will cause more RPM. Just use less stick for the power you need.
We fly a SoarStar on 3-cell Lipo and only use 1/4 stick for great power. Full stick will cause the motor to wear out much faster but man will it haul

Everything will be fine if you manage your throttle well. Just don't get carried away with the new found power

I am not sure my battery charger can handle a 3 cell lipo.
What is the most inexpensive unit that provides adequate charging fo LIPO ???
Mine is a Super Brain 959:
NOTES FROM OUR TECH DEPARTMENT
This is the MRC Super Brain 959 AC/DC Delta Peak Charger with LCD Display
FEATURES: Charges a wide range of batteries from 1-8 AA & Sub-C cells,
plus a setting for a single cell "Glow Driver" battery.
Will peak charge both NiCd and NiMH batteries.
AC/DC Delta Peak with MicroPeak Technology.
Powered by the latest ASIC technology with a 12-bit A/D converter
and a DSP algorithm, the RB959 detects delta peak more accurately
and avoids false peaks.
Unique Smooth Power Flex Control (SPFC) charges batteries smoothly
and efficiently.
Monitors and Displays voltage, current, charging time, delta peak
voltage, threshold, and battery status.
Adjustable current rate.
Plug 'n Play or advanced programming operation features.
Digital Signal Processing (DSP) filters out noise and provides
greater measurement accuracy.
Compact size to fit into a field box.
Purple Composite outer case with Vent slots cut into it.
INCLUDES: One Super Brain 959 charger
Steel U-shaped charger stand (props charger up at an angle)
Adapter cord with Alligator clips
Instruction sheet
